  1. Considering Peach was option #3, you aren’t wrong.
  2. He wasn’t warned that the previous staff would still be working in the district not leaving many positions for people he would like to bring in.
  3. Bardstown might be the second best team in 3A behind CAL.
  4. Peach is a good coach and even better guy but he wasn’t fully warned to what he was walking into. I hope he can turn it around!
  5. Probably 4-1. With the 4 wins by closer margins. He makes life much easier though! I’d much rather have him on our side.
  6. Belfry is tough to figure out. Great win by Pikeville.
  7. Great Win Henderson! You all have become my favorite team in 6A this year.
  8. Got to chill out on the penalties. Otherwise I’m glad to see the Boyle OL making holes.
  9. I think it goes 1. Beechwood 2. Mayfield 3. LCA 4. O Cath. Everyone else.
  10. I fully expect that to be the match up. Boyle could get beat and drop to 2 putting them against Lex Cath instead.
  11. GRC will linger until October due to lack of quality opponents. In October they go Bryan Station, Madison Central and Oldham County. We will see what they are made of then.
  12. I’m pulling for Henderson the rest of the way in 6A. Loved their grit and attitude.
  13. In Kentucky lower class doesn’t mean lower quality. 6A has 4 sometimes 5 teams that are better than the rest of the state then after that the top tier of just about all the other classes would fall into that 5-10 range. When they play lower class teams typically they’re ranked in the top 10 of their respective class.
  14. Shout out to @Purple88 for his great write up. He always produces great work! Boyle gets it’s first true road test of the season Friday night and it comes against arguably the toughest opponent they’ve faced yet. I fully expect this to be a phenomenal atmosphere and a great game. As Purple88 said, best game in the state this week. Last week the Rebels needed two scores in the final 7 minutes to break a 17-17 tie and secure the win against a tough and motivated Henderson County squad. Quisenberry continued to add to his impressive start on the season adding 4 receiving TDs and another INT. Cole Sims and Tommy Zeismer also showed out making big time plays in big time moments to help Boyle get the W. I look for BG to be much improved over last season and I fully expect them to be ready to go from the opening kickoff. Deuce Bailey is improved at QB and he’s very experienced for a sophomore. Already having played at Boyle, against St X, and South Warren twice in his young career, I can’t see any moment being too big for him at this point. He will need to be very careful with the football as Boyle’s defense has been an interception machine with 9 so far in four games. Quisenberry leads the way with 3 himself. Boyle has always prided itself on its defensive ability and this year is no different. I expect the BG front 7 to be chomping at the bit to wreak havoc against the Boyle OL that has had its struggles so far this season. Sure they’ve had some preseason injuries to some key players but at this point that’s just an excuse. The 5 that are playing have 4 games and at least 20 practices under their belt, it’s time to step up. Outside of the OL another concern in the last couple weeks are missed passes to wide open receivers and a a few dropped passes that were sure TD’s. That’s got to be cleaned up moving forward and I’m sure coach Haddix is on it. I’m curious to see how BG handles the multi threat attack from Dawson, Quisenberry, Bodner and Sims. Bodner and Quisenberry can and will line up all over the field trying to create mismatches. Quisenberry is a highlight waiting to happen so I’m sure he will have his moments in this game as well. Fun fact, all 4 players mentioned played QB at some point in their high school careers so the potential list of trick plays is very diverse. Take last years result and toss it out the window. This one should be a dandy! Marquee games like this are what make high school football so much fun. Hoping for a clean, safe and thrilling game. Let us know who you got in this one!
  15. submitting on the behalf of @Purple88 Boyle County (4-0) at Bowling Green (4-0) These two super programs play for only the 3rdtime since 1998. Bowling Green won 49-21 back in 2007 and Boyle County walloped BG 31-0 last year. It was only the 10th time BG has been shut out since 1998. The 2021 game saw Boyle County outgain BG 359 yards to 159 yards. Just sledding uphill for BG on that night. Boyle stars QB/LB Jagger Gillis and WR/DB Cole Lanter were important on both sides of the ball for the Rebels and each had an interception in the game, when both were known more for their offense IMO. BG came out flat as a fiddle and didn’t really put up any resistance untilmid-second quarter when the game was already 21-0, so just a poor night for BG all around. I’m hopeful the Purples will use that game as fuel to better compete this coming Friday night. BG comes into this game on a 4-game win streak not seen since the 2020 State Championship team. Last Friday Night’s Hopkinsville game can be summed up by saying BG had a poor first quarter and a blown coverage play on the second snap of the game allowed a long TD pass to Daisjaun Mercer, who also had a spectacular INT on the next BG offensive series. Kid is a real player! But BG woke up in the second quarter with a nice INT by S Wick Dotson; setting up a 5-yard TD run by returning RB JR Javon Huddleston. SO QB Deuce Bailey then went to work. He hit Easton Barlow with 2 TDs, 1 to SR HB Maners and Bailey also ran one in. So great effort to fight through some adversity early to get it done. BG has some injury issues, but hoping that improves this week. For the Boyle County preview, West Danville will bring you great info in the next thread entry! My take on this game is it should be a fantastic high school football game. One of the best games in the state this week by far. I just want BG to compete from the beginning this game. Last year was a tough one for BG as a whole and I’m sure they haven’t forgotten. My early keys to the game are as follows: 1. BG’s OLine is much better than last year. Can they open some lanes against one of the best DLines/defenses in the state? BG’s 3-headed monster: RBs Javon Huddleston, LaDanian Woods, and Jayden Axson gaining yards would be HUGE, as BG likes to be balanced on offense. 2. I have heard Boyle County has injury issues on the OLine. True or not, can the Boyle County OLine open some lanes for their quality RBs Bodner and Quisenberry? 3. Mr. Quisenberry is a big time player for Boyle County. Can BG bottle him up? Won’t be easy. 4. QB Deuce Bailey is starting to come into his own after paying his dues as a freshman last year. Similar to Quisenberry, can the Rebels D contain Bailey and his stable of undervalued WRs? Can the Purples break Boyle County’s 17 game win streak? Come out to Bowling Green High Stadium on Friday night (6:30 pm CENTRAL kickoff time!) and find out! Early forecast: 78 degrees and 0% chance of rain! Now’s the time to get the honey-do’s out of the way! Come on down to Bowling Green as this one should be a fun one! Safe Travels to all of the Boyle County Fans coming down to the game!
  16. Got about 35 points left off the boards in the last two weeks because of this.
  17. Boyle didn’t play great but yes Henderson came out very motivated and never let up. They’re a very solid team and should put together a real nice season. I agree that Boyle needed this. Everybody has been hyping them up and telling them how great they are. Got a piece of humble pie tonight. Time to get back to work.
  18. Congrats Mercer! Until Danville finds a way to not be one dimensional expect to see 8-9 in the box moving forward.
  19. Are they the favorite, no. Should they be dismissed, also no. They’re one of a handful of teams I wouldn’t want to see come playoff time.
