This will be a fun one to watch. Boyle is one illegal motion penalty away from this being #1 in 5A vs #1 in 4A. This is a big one for Boyle because a win here potentially jumps them to #1 in the RPI keeping them at home throughout the playoffs. A loss and they slide to 3 and spend most of their playoffs away from Rebel stadium.
Boyle travels to Bourbon County to close out their district slate. Bourbon enters this game at 2-6 while Boyle comes in at 7-1. In comparing common opponents Bourbon beat Anderson 47-0 but lost to Lex Cath 49-0. Boyle beat Anderson 36-0 and lost to Lex Cath 28-27. This game will determine who gets the 2 and 3 seeds in the playoffs and who gets to play at home in the first round versus going on the road. Since entering the same district in 2019 Boyle has outscored Bourbon by a total score of 143-25. Bourbon County isn’t as one dimensional as Anderson County and will provide more of a test for the Rebels this week. Maybe not much more but still more. Look for the younger Rebels to get some reps again this week late in the game. Does Boyle get it to the running clock and call off the dogs like they did last week or do they run it up?
