Greenup County 44 Boyd County 33
Greenup is whipping Boyd at the line of scrimmage so far. The Lions can't get anything going offensively and Greenup has run the ball at will.

Boyle County 42 Saint Xavier 13
Same. A competitive game between these two brand names is good for all parties, including us.

Boyle County 42 Saint Xavier 13
I'm not convinced X can muster enough offense. I think full strength Boyle wins something like 28-10 or 28-14.

Greenup County 44 Boyd County 33
I like the Musketeers here. They outplayed Russell in every phase but the scoreboard and went toe-to-toe with Ashland before getting burned in the second half by Trevonte Taylor. Greenup 's got a good club. Boyd is very solid, too, but I'm taking the Musketeers at home.

Woodford County 43 South Oldham 6
What's going on in Crestwood? The Dragons are 1-10 dating back to the middle of last season. They haven't been down like this since the pre Jamie Reed days (2010). Just an off year, or something more?

2026 Mr. Football Watchlist (9/29)
đ° Headlines đď¸ - The towering lights came on for Kade Goodin and Timmy Emongo, who proved to be captivating, if not imperfect dance partners. They were slightly out of sync, as the former asserted himself early, while the latter saved his fanciest footwork for later. Regardless, they combined to hold your attention throughout the fire fight that engulfed Shelbyville. Goodin's right arm, moving like a liquid whip, produced 517 yards and seven touchdowns on 65 pass attempts. His legs, when the opportunity arose, contributed another 121 and two scores. Emongo bided his time while Collins' defense was determined not to let him beat them. He did anyway, with the lion's share of his 170 yards and four touchdowns coming in the second half, including a signature sweep late in the fourth quarter that served as the nail in Collins' coffin, with Emongo gripping the hammer. The biggest winner on the night was probably Ball State. - When Zane Johnson's playing days are over, he has a future taming tigers for the circus. He threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns against St. X, giving him ten touchdown passes and zero interceptions against the Tigers dating back to last year's semifinals. - South Warren's defense has been a black hole for opposing ball carriers over the years. Kasen Brock said "let there be light'. Pulaski threw caution to the wind, electing to go for it on fourth down at its own 28 on its first possession. Brock got the call, finding acres of space off left end for a 72 yard score. The tone was set; Pulaski came to fight and Brock was the tip of the spear, finishing with 200 yards and two scores on 21 carries. - The consummate worker, Ja'Hyde Brown never takes a night off. He's always on time and only leaves when the job is done. He's been clocking out by halftime or the third quarter of every game so far this season. He caught four more touchdown passes last week, all in the first half against Bowling Green. - Dre'Mail Carothers is the recipient of this week's 'William Tell Marksmanship Award' đŻ after completing 13 of 16 passes for nearly 300 yards and six touchdowns in a demolition of Meade County. The Green Waves's defense has been put through the ringer; Goodin two weeks ago, then Carothers last week. đŹ - Tyler Fryman saw limited action against Owen County, but caught a touchdown pass and took an interception back for a score. This will likely be the norm for him for the next several weeks as Beechwood demolishes its district. - Seneca Driver returned after a couple of weeks on ice to catch seven balls for 86 yards and a touchdown against Ballard. The PR situation is not ideal for the early season frontrunner.

Whitley County names JB Donahue Interim Head Coach
They've been dreadful this season. Maybe as bad as they've ever looked? The schedule has been challenging, but they haven't been competitive.

Lawrence County 26 Mason County 0
The Dawgs should roll. Lots of quickness on both sides of the ball. The defense, in particular, has been outstanding.

Ja'Hyde Brown - Mr. Football Conversation
Ja'Hyde Brown (WR, CAL) đ: Source đď¸ | The single season touchdown reception record seems inevitable. At the rate he's going and the likelihood that CAL plays fifteen games, he may push the record out of sight. Brown is a virtual lock to finish his season in Lexington, giving him that all important opportunity to make a lasting impression on the biggest stage. Season to date: 46 receptions for 800 yards and 19 TDs

Tyler Fryman - Mr. Football Conversation

Kade Goodin - Mr. Football Conversation
Kade Goodin (QB, Collins) đ: Source đď¸ | Best quarterback in the state? Maybe. A top candidate for Mr. đ? No question. Goodin's dual threat abilities have posed a riddle that opposing defenses have yet to solve. He's accounted for 25 touchdowns over his last three games. Currently leads the state in total offense, passing yards, attempts, and completions. Season to date: 154/218 (70%) for 2,418 yards with 33 TDs and 2 INTs | 557 rushing yards and 11 TDs

Mayfield 45 Caldwell County 7
It's always hard to go against Mayfield when facing local schools in their weight class, especially at home. They don't lose these games very often. Will Caldwell be unmasked, or do they pose a tangible threat to the Cards? I'm very curious how this one plays out.

Rockcastle County 42 Bell County 0
Bell County đ vs. Rockcastle County đ đď¸ | Unbeaten Rockets Take Aim At District Nemesis đ | Dudley Hilton's made from scratch pillar of EKY football. Bell is showing cracks this year with a 2-4 mark and coming off a loss to McCreary Central, a team that had never come close to beating the Bobcats in 25 previous tries. đ | Rockcastle has fashioned an unbeaten record behind the state's #2 rushing attack. This is the third straight year the Rockets have been 6-0, with Bell County handing them their first loss the previous two seasons. âď¸ đ | Bell County leads 27-11 all-time. Last year saw the Bobcats gash Rockcastle with nearly 500 rushing yards en route to a 39-6 win on Log Mountain.

McCracken County 28 Brighton (TN) 27
Mustangs đ vs. Cardinals đžđŞ đď¸ | As Things Look Up For McCracken, The Mustangs Go South đ | After outgunning Murray in a thriller, the McCracken ventures south of the border to continue building momentum. Cole Presswood threw five touchdowns against the Tigers as he continues to emerge as one of WKY's top quarterbacks. đžđŞ | Brighton snapped a three game losing streak last week. The Cardinals haven't had a winning season since 2017, inspiring belief that McCracken will return home victorious before district play begins.
