Week three of first district play in class 2A will most certainly decide who will win the district title as 6-0 Caldwell County travels to play the Cardinals at War Memorial. Both of these teams are 2-0 in district play with the Tigers crushing Trigg County and Fort Campbell, and Mayfield beating Crittenden County and Todd County Central.

The big discrepancy that stands out concerning these two teams is their non-district schedule. Caldwell has had its way with noticeably weaker opponents, and Mayfield has taken on teams that have put every player to the test. Does this mean the Cardinals are the favorite? Tell us what you think.

It's always hard to go against Mayfield when facing local schools in their weight class, especially at home. They don't lose these games very often.

Will Caldwell be unmasked, or do they pose a tangible threat to the Cards? I'm very curious how this one plays out.

Yes you're right and until proven different gotta go with Mayfield when playing local schools in class. But maybe atleast Caldwell can give them a game but this one of those why you play the game games.

I don't think any Caldwell opponent has a winning record at this point. I got Mayfield by a running clock in the third quarter.
