Kade Goodin (QB, Collins)

🔗: Source

🗞️ | Best quarterback in the state? Maybe.

A top candidate for Mr. 🏈? No question.

Goodin's dual threat abilities have posed a riddle that opposing defenses have yet to solve. He's accounted for 25 touchdowns over his last three games.

Currently leads the state in total offense, passing yards, attempts, and completions.

Season to date: 154/218 (70%) for 2,418 yards with 33 TDs and 2 INTs | 557 rushing yards and 11 TDs

Definitely. Great all around player who makes every one around him better.

Let me paraphrase retired Coach Chris Wolfe on the Glicod broadcast.... that you don't see a player like this very often. Best player on the field and that saying a lot when you are playing a loaded Scott Co. team with Tommy Emongo. Now my words, he appears to have Lamar Jackson type speed and elusiveness and a rifle for an arm. Hard to know at the high school level but possibly a Sunday type talent. Wake Forest has a diamond.

He was committed to Ball St. I didn't know he flipped to Wake Forest. When did that happen?

Maybe I just heard the announcer wrong, but Wake Forest doesn't sound anything like Ball State for sure. So, I could just be wrong.

He gets my vote. His numbers are incredible.

Honestly, this batch of Mr Football candidates this year is outstanding. So many great choices and options.

247Sports recruiting shows him hard commitment to Ball State.

Not to be the stats police, but two of Collins' games (Shelby County and Woodford County) are missing interceptions, and he should have 5 total. It also appears that Collins' stats keeper isn't recording all of Goodin's sacks.

Current reported Arbiter stats

Player	School	Gms	Att	Cmp	Cmp%	Yds	Int	TD	Avg
Goodin, Kade	Collins	8	290	196	67.59%	2936	3*	40	367.00

WoFo game hurt his stats as he was running for his life all game long. Coach Dennis Johnson’s D- line just overpowered Collins protection and Goodin launched a dozen passes out of bounds to avoid big sacks. 19 completions of 45 attempts, 4 TDs, 291 yards and 9 rushes for 113 yards. His completion % took a big hit, but when you run a passing offense like Collins the big programs can just peel their ears back and bring the heat.

I put the stats in every week for 17 years here. They said he had an interception in the Shelby Co game which he didn’t and they said I didn’t put the interception in at the end of the game, but the official ruled it out of bounds on 4th down and marked it at the original spot.- Coach Jerry Lucas, Collins HS HFC

Coach Lucas asked me to share this. We go back 31 years to Paris v. Western Hills (1995). Also coached against his Dad (Roy Senior at Newport) & brother (Roy Junior at Lloyd). Great football family!

If Coach Lucas said it, you can count on it. I saw the interception on Goodin’s last pass….it was a spectacular play, but the defender appeared to be out of bounds.

Little irritated with Jerry. Our first game(1995) against each other, we could play a 5-2 Shade defensive front with a Monster 3 deep behind it. Now he has a Mr. Football candidate @ QB, really good WRs and a solid Oline. We better put 11 DBs on the field in 2026. 😎 Times have changed!

Try to get some sleep this week, Chief. Pick a young, hungry assistant and delegate the stress and sleepless nights to him. 😂
