IMO 1. Highlands (one of the deepest pitching staffs in the state) 2. Cov Cath 3. Cooper (this team will surprise many this year. Good young arms) 4. Conner 5. Beechwood 6. Ryle 7. Dixie 8. Boone 9. NewCath 10. St. Henry

9th Region - Hands down Baioni. He doesn't just coach a team. He understands that in order to build a PROGRAM, you have to do it from the ground up. This is one of the biggest reasons Highlands has had their recent run of success. IMO they will continue to be the top team in the 9th region as long as he is there.

No schedule released yet but congrats to Highlands on being selected to play in this event March 31-April 1. Looks like a loaded field of teams! KY teams - Highlands, St. Xavier, McCracken County, Ballard, Trinity TN teams - Farragut, Houston, Mount Juliet, Christian Brothers, Hendersonville I do know Farragut and Houston are TN state powers in baseball.

Per PBR twitter, Paintsville SS Seth Williams has committed to Louisville. The first class of 2020 player to commit. Crazy how early recruiting is in baseball these days.

The winner of this game is the State Champ. The top half of the bracket was so much more difficult than the bottom half it's not even funny. A blind draw is just plain silly.

Hopkinsville RHP Easton McGee went in the 4th round to the Rays and Rowan Co RHP Cameron Planck went in the 11th round to the Mets. Congrats to both young men!

Three 6th Region games were one run games yesterday and the other was a two run game. Three top 10 teams in the state lost in the first round. There is plenty of competitiveness to counter the first round games that aren't.

I don't feel like Rowan Co holding Planck back was that big of a gamble. Rowan has zero chance to beat Greenup without Planck on the mound. In that case, I think the coach made the right decision because what does it matter to play another day with next to no chance to win? The others you referenced were very questionable decisions. Both Cov Cath & Ryle would have a chance to win their semifinal throwing their No. 1's in the first round. It was a decision that sent them packing.

It can only be a verbal. Can't sign until November of senior year. Doesn't matter anyway, a kid can sign with a college and get drafted and still sign with the pro team who drafts him.

Planck hardly got hit hard. He gave up 4 singles in 4 innings. Two were ground ball singles through the infield, one was an infield hit, one was a bloop. Rowan committed 7 errors. Planck gave up 8 runs, only one earned. Let's call it what it was.

Planck MIGHT get drafted in rounds 5-10 but it all depends on how signable he is. An organization is not going to waste a round 5-10 pick on a HS kid if he is set on going to school. But if Planck lets it be known he will sign if the money is right, I would think he has a shot to go pretty high.

Planck was 91-93 at the PBR Super 60 in early February so 92-94 would seem to fit with that.
