If one girl gets college interest coming from his event then it was a success. Any opportunity one of these young players have to show of their skills in front of coaches is a good thing. Regardless if the feeling this is a money grab or no.

Wow, that's a little harsh. Volleyball may be really strong in Louisville over the last 25 years but that doesn't mean the rest of the state is behind. It means girls will go to either Mercy or Assumption to just play volleyball where they will have a solid team made up top players from 1 to 10. Where as possibly in other schools in other parts of the state they are not labeled as volleyball schools and you may have 1-3 players or at best 1-4 being top club players and the remainder be filled by strong players, but just not the same caliber. Northern Kentucky has produced some top D1 & USA Team athletes in the area and they would be miffed to think they were behind the times. Notre Dame is about as close as you get to be considered a power house school in Northern Kentucky for volleyball but calling them a volleyball only school would discount all the other girls that play soccer, softball, tennis at such a high level. While I can only speak of Northern Kentucky, I can say that I would take the top players from all the 9th Region schools on one team against any Louisville school any day of the week.. That's about as close to a level playing field it would be. :ylsuper:

CB coach stated that he could play at 1, 2 or 3. Also his AAU team was the talk of the tournament this past Friday night with only losing to OBC 17u by 1 which was the first time the CB coach has seen him.

Saw on Twitter that JC received his first offer from Christian Brothers today. Seen him play a few times, nice player.. Congrats to him and his parents, I'm sure there will be more to come..

Its not his size that will beat people. Its the fact that he has no fear of driving the lane and will score. Love watching this kid play.

I spoke with a couple parents who have daughters in 13/14s and they stated this is their daughters first experience in going away. The hope that it allowed them to get a small glimpse of what is out here and to how they will handle being away for a week or how every long it is. Sounds like a pretty cool experience.

Sorry, meant to answer this. Hall did play with the team in the camp. The only person I saw on the bench hurt was Neff. Heard he may have rolled his ankle or something on days before.

I was only able to get down and see yesterday's bracket play. Most games were pretty uneventful until the semi finals. John Harden played NCC's 1 team which was pretty exciting. NCC started the game out strong with 3 strait 3 pointers. Wurtz and 2 from Hall. They were up most of the game. Before the second half a John Hadin player gave a little shove to a NCC player which resulted in a T. Things got a little testy after that. NCC played strong the remainder of the game which John Harden missing a last shot as mentioned before. Exciting game. In the end NCC played North Harden in the finals where they won 47-29. Great way to start for the year for this new Breds team.

Big congrats to JB and the Birds on phase 1 of their season!! Phase 2 stars next in Lexington, take it too them. Good luck at state!! Great season by Beechwood. Unfortunately we can't send 2 schools to the state tournament because I feel the 9th would represent.

Does that change the scenario any the fielder being up the line a little? I don't believe he has a right to be there without the ball but now the ball is coming from another direction. Clyde, whats the rule say? And I take out both interference and obstruction out of the mix.

Based on the pic it looks like the call was right on the money. What was the player supposed to do? Why was the ball thrown up the line other than intentionally trying to cause contact. Doesn't look like it was thrown off line based on he way way the fielder is standing. Panda, great pics as always.

I wasn't at the game either and I'll go with nkuclubbaseball19. If he said he is darn good then he must be. NKU can be the hardest critic of umpires when he wants to be which makes him a good source for when he says someone is good. How about we hear from someone actually at the game??

So what happens to all those schools that just purchased brand new Ralwings basketballs and now they have to switch? Because the shot clock does not add $$ to the KHSAA's pockets. Changing companies does.

Is NCC seriously having a down year? Just doesn't seem like the teams we have seen in the past.

I saw that and was wondering if it was his way of making sure the kid touched the plate as he returned to his base. Strange for sure, but don't think he was trying to stop the kid from scoring.

Sorry can't blame this on the player here. These kids know what is going on. This is all on the coach. She was his strongest server and he wanted to get the win. No excuse.

Nothing to do with playing time or if this was my kid, because it wasn't. This was about a coach cheating the system to get a win. He allowed a young lady, which has a very very good server, to server 3 times for 3 players which is a big no-no. It wasn't until someone caught what he was doing and called him on it before it was stopped. Up ref wanted nothing to do with it and table didn't catch it. I don't fault the table because they were made up of young players. I fault a coach doing whatever it takes to get a win. Please reread what I said and then the multiple responses that explained the rules.

Help me understand how a coach can allow his Libero to serve 3 times for 3 different people in a rotation? Is he doing this to only win the match? This club, coach/owner lost all respect from me. Says a lot about whats important to some.

I would agree with that. D1 is the only level you are guaranteed a full ride for basketball. D2 can be full or partial. D3 is academic. NAIA is similar to the NCAA levels but can do a lot of different things being they are not mandated by the NCAA. I guess my point it. If a kid has the ability to continue is basketball through college and is getting part or all of his schooling for that is great. College is just so expensive.
