  1. What a beautiful sight that crowd would be. I like that it is being put off, builds the anticipation. I just hope it doesn't happen and it be a down year for one of the teams. Boy would that suck after all the exciting build up. This needs to be a clash of the titans type event and that sirs is what I am crossing my fingers for!
  2. THIS good sir just stripped you of a majority of your credibility in your argument. I honestly cannot believe you went the direction of "schedule shouldn't really matter".
  3. I have to agree here. Win this week will be big for them. BTW I HATE Hoptown. That felt good and had to be said. They ended my senior and perfect season with a last second TD. Will never get that disgusting moment out of my head.
  4. Very interesting. I personally (and this is opinion only) think that may be smart. It would be non-district and a game that really does not matter in the big scheme of things. If you are Coach Smith, allow the program to continue to grow and develop, establish a winning history, THEN schedule big non-district games. Some may not agree with this approach but I surely could understand it. SW continues doing what they are doing they will have the history of success and be a highly respected program. When the time comes (and it will) I along with Purple88, will have my massive purple glasses on watching the new rivalry commence.
  5. I saw quite a few Trinity fans say that Male was capable of beating them. Did most people vote T, sure. However I think the popular concensus was that Male was always capable of winning that game and they did. I do not believe there to be another Male in the commonwealth. I see T and Male unbeaten until they meet again.
  6. I hope they do. I hate what they have had to go through and there is no rivalry any Purple alumni enjoyed more than with the Dragons. I already miss them being a district game. Adds fuel to the fire.
  7. Give me OHS and that nasty defense by 10. While they might be dealing with learning a new offense with a first time starter that defense is a beautiful unit to watch. Im pulling for your boys this week Devil58.
  8. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! They best schedule BG. I want that game. It will be my only Christmas wish in 4 years. If they continue their program on an uptrend it would make one heck of a crosstown rival. Im tired of the what ifs. I want to see the actual results of BG and SW meeting.
  9. I want to hear the reasons too as I am ignorant to what Pulaski has. I know they returned everyone from their state team last year but am curious of more in depth reasoning as to why this year.
  10. That would be excellent. Those semi final games were incredible. I will definitely start paying more attention to them! Will South Warren eventually move into 5A?
  11. I am pulling for this to be a good game. I would like to see these two programs get back on track. I would like to see HHS win for the 5A pride but have a soft spot for X from having enjoyed the fanbase from playing them the last 5 years. So Ill just hope for a strong outing by both that all can enjoy watching.
  12. Only part I disagree with is BG is BG again. High rate of turnovers is still alarming and not BG standard. Turnovers give anyone a chance at the win. 5A is still anyones game right now. Owensboro's defense is impressive to say the least. Can they form a strong offense to match? BG's linebackers and secondary are excellent. Can they seal up that defensive front and clean up the offensive discipline? And Highlands??? What will HHS become? These are things that the regular season is for so as time progresses I guess we will see who dials it in and who does not. I have not gotten to watch Pulaski so I apologize for a lack of knowledge on what I hear to be a very good team. Sure wish JH was still in 5A. I will miss getting the chance to have excellent playoff matches against them. I loved playing them. Wouldn't mind having SW too! Oh what a class that would be. Be some fun fun games. A guy can dream.
  13. I can agree they will have their butts chewed but im sure they did the last 2 weeks too. Im calling 2 more turnovers this week keeping it close. 28-21 Purples
  14. To start, outside of throwing int's Owensboro played great! Now the Purples. 2 more fumbles. This offense is wasting away talent with a lack of attention to detail. 9 fumbles in 4 games with Carothers having 6 of those. Secondary and linebackers made this win possible. Im not going to make it through this season without having a massive heart attack. Time for some individual pride and discipline to get control of this sloppiness.
  15. Gotta love them purple colored glasses. Seems to make everything look better.
  16. 1A-Beechwood 2A-Mayfield 3A-Boyle Co. 4A-Johnson Central 5A-Bowling Green 6A-Trinity
  17. Honestly it was Warren Central that took the hit not BG. What might get BG a bit is the new out of district agreement. The number alloted has lowered preventing as many students who live in the county to go to BG. It was never a go anywhere you wanted policy but before last year was more flexible than now. Athletics wise especially football kids are not trying to go to South Warren over BG yet as BG has the tradition, history, and rings. While South Warren has developed a good program they need more time to start pulling BG's crowd away IMO. But I am positive Dragonfire and Bigblackjack can explain the hit WC has taken just from the redistricting alone.
  18. Clark Payne (BG QB) was 31 for 45 with 325yds passing and 2TDs/1int
  19. Yes they did. 3 fumbles, an int on the drive in 4th that would have put them down 31-26, and gave up two special teams TDs (99yd opening kickoff return, and punt return TD). As I stated before, discipline. St. X was the more disciplined/mentally ready team not necessarily the most talented (although they are very talented this year).
  20. I think that would play into O-boro's favor. I say that because it hurts the Clark Payne air game.
  21. This is my second favorite game of the regular season and I am excited. With that said, BG keeps the ball in their hands (stop fumbling) and tighten up special teams I call BG by 14. O-boro has a stout run defense, fortunately BG can pass with the best of them. Should be an excellent game for all to enjoy. Good week for football ladies and gentlemen.
  22. Interesting. We return most everyone next year including an excellent quarterback and running back. Against X the difference maker was discipline and that can/will be developed with this team, as Wallace coached teams have proven time and time again. 3 fumbles, 1 interception, and 2 special teams touchdowns are NOT an everyday event. You have to credit X for aiding in those hiccups however BG will only get better. But yes please keep thinking that if it helps you sleep better. We like it!
