Can they? Absolutely! Should they? Yes! Will they? That will be seen. I am rooting for them though.

Only problem with the triple option is if you play a defense that contains, makes the correct read on the TE/FB and has speedy/good tackling backs who stay at home, you get shutdown. I think Owensboro has these things and show to be very disciplined on defense. Never know though, that's why we play the game.

While SW may not have played a team like JC or Ashland the same can be said the other way. From what I hear, SW defense lines up and dares you to try and run on them. So far that has proven to be quite the success story for this defense, to the point some have called their run defense as the best in the state.....so my theory, neither has seen a team like the other. I agree 100%. I honestly think if both teams get there that the winner takes State. Absolutely no pun intended towards the east side of the state but it is my opinion we are better on the west.

It bugged me a bit. While I am a Purples fan I pull for Oboro quite often. They are one of my favorite rivals who I have a ton of respect for. They are a very solid team this year and I was having a hard time believing MCC was better. I GURANTEE our game vs Oboro (if it happens) will be a much much more competitive game regardless of winner.

Good win. Time to get into playoff mode, got a heck of a road ahead of us that most likely includes Oboro(anyone still claim MCC to be better than them?)

I do not know much of anything about MCC but if they have garnered 13 votes to beat BG then they must be doing something right. Without knowing the competition I go with instinct and that is my Purples. No spread will be predicted on my end due to my ignorance of the matter.

In the modern day should be an easy fix? I would think its simple data analysis. Put the stats in perspective to minutes played. We all have the technology, excel will even make it beautiful. if you are playing 50% less mintutes than another recruit but your production is only 25% less that speaks for itself. If you know you are going to have a strong team with a weak schedule then a good coach will get good recruits to top tier (i understand this also involves $$$ from parents) camps and invite in recruiters for added exposure beyond second half stats. I am in NO way arguing just thinking there are ways to make it work while not risking injury.

Yeah that's it. Glad you have such a strong grasp on why WE support him. We support him because of the great rivalry history between our program and theirs. We support him because every Purple had one game they ALWAYS knew the date of. That game is no longer relevant as it once was. That game has been somewhat tarnished in the very very recent years. What good sir is the x factor in this? BG just all of a sudden getting their atheletes? Right........ Go practice basket weaving.

It is not surprising. Cheap to play, can start at a young age, and incredibly popular worldwide. It was just a matter of time until it hit here. I lived in Germany 3 years and went to some games there.......completely different atmosphere than ANYTHING I have experienced. Crowd is insane and unbelievably loyal to their teams. Ticket prices were reasonable even in the most amazing stadiums so you got the "real" fans. Soccer turns into that here and I will attend. As of now though, BORING in America.

I do not get the argument for SW at #1 at the CURRENT MOMENT DT. No injuries, sure. The entire purpose for rankings is to try and accurately predict an outcome between teams. In SW's current state SW fans (more than likely) are the only people in the state who would say they are better than BG. And using our loss to X does NOT make your guys healthy this week so that is a poor attempt for argument. Again 100% healthy SW team and this conversation is different and I am willing to bet Purple88 still has them at #1. Outside of that all good stuff by everyone and all the more proof that a game between BG and SW is needed.

Im glad for the win but 2 more fumbles is incredible annoying. Carothers needs to get his ball control under wraps. State champs do not consistently lose the ball.
