Johnson Central or South Warren, choose your poison. Who should be number one? Ashland looks ready for the Johnson Central showdown, who wins that in the coming weeks? Who will win the second game they will likely play? Collins has a big match up with 3A #1 Boyle County, what will they show us this week. Spencer County love, you got to talk about that. Who has a good chance of moving in the Top 10 discussion? Who may move out this week?

Ram, another good summary! I myself would put South Warren at #1 for the mere fact that they have played 4 games vs Johnson Centrals 2 (just the way the schedule is). South convincingly beat John Hardin (then a Top 3 4A team and still in the Top 10) and just this past week beat a Central Hardin team that was a fringe 6A Top 10 team. I know Johnson Central beat LexCath and they are a good team. Just think South's body of work TODAY is a little better. No real slight to JC as I think these 2 meet in BG with it all on the line.

It is an interesting, and fair, argument about who should be number one at this point. Some insight into the Ranking Staff's discussion: Johnson Central was the overwhelming favorite to be the Preseason number one, and although they have only played two games, there hasn't been a compelling reason to abandon them at the number one position, they have done what they were expected to do.

South Warren is definitely a capable team and has made an argument to be number one. As you said, their body of work is nice. I think we need a few more weeks of "body" to know for sure who deserves that spot more.

Fair enough:thumb:

And I realize I'm splitting hairs here.

I think, no matter where you stand on the argument, we can all agree those two teams are the cream of the crop right now and the teams to beat on their perspective sides of the state. Should be interesting.

I see hopkinsville isn't getting the respect they deserve in 4A they have one on the best defenses all year.

KYfootball welcome to BGPs!

I agree with the opening part of your statement that not many have expected or give credit for Hoptown to be 4-0. My only hesitation is they haven't beaten a murders row, but if they beat Christian County this week, I think they run the table! Go Tigers!:thumb:

Welcome aboard!

Hoptown only beat Murray by a TD so a #5 ranking is plenty of respect for now.

I have to agree here. Win this week will be big for them. BTW I HATE Hoptown. That felt good and had to be said. They ended my senior and perfect season with a last second TD. Will never get that disgusting moment out of my head.

I think South Warren at #1 and Johnson Central at #2 . Souths Defense is special.

Hoptowns defense has been very good, but against Murray they gave up 250 yards on the ground. I think their ranking is right where it needs to be. They have played Graves Co. and Murray and while they are both good teams, they are not powerhouse teams. I really don't think Christian County this week would be considered a powerhouse team either. Bowling Green destroyed them in their matchup earlier this year and I would put JC and SW right there with BG. All three are much better than Hopkinsville.

I'm predicting the rival game Friday to be close... But if they go out and dismantle county what will be said then?

It's not as if the teams ahead of Hoptown are pushovers. They too are unbeaten. Realistically, surely you don't think they'd be higher than 4?

You are going to have to be more specific. Remember BGP is state wide so what rival game are you speaking of and who is county in your example? I think I know but please add more detail so it makes sense to everyone.
