I think Newport may have a little more talent but there is no quit in that Elliott county team. I'll predict Newport 68 Elliott Co 61.

It's been really hard to replace a guy like Holden Redparth. He was an all around great player who defended, blocked shots and rebounded. When 1 or 2 of the starting 5 get in foul trouble it really takes away from Morgan being disruptive on the defensive end. Plus their rebounding has not been great. I hope they can turn it around cause Elliott, East and West Carter are all teams that can and will beat you on any given night. I'll keep supporting my Cougars though.

Agree. Snapp, Mullins and those guys will be hard to stop.

I remember that game. 2011/12 season. GRC beat Rowan co by 2 in the finals of the AIT. GRC had a 17 game win streak that year before Rowan got revenge on them in Morehead. GRC had a great year that year.

I also think GRC makes a good run in this one and meets Newport in the finals.

Bracken co beat a bad Fleming 1-9 team by only 11 points. And played their starters the entire game. I do not believe Bracken co will beat Elliott co. I honestly believe Bracken is either the 4th or 5th best team in this one. With Newport being the best.

I think Menifee will pick up their first win against Lee Co on Dec 29 at the Red River Classic.

Doesn't Greenup and Rowan have transfers this year? Is Morgan the only team in the 16th that gets transfers? I thought a lot of teams get transfers in each year. I honestly don't even know why people bring up the subject. If it is done legally and proof can be provided that the kid resides there, is there really anything that can be done about it? I guess it's just something for people to complain about. A kid can leave for prep school for their Sr year and not much is said about it. Heck who wouldn't want their kid or any other that has potential to better themselves?

I don't think Bracken county will get by Elliott co in the opening game. Should be a good game though.

For Morgan co they were led by Banks with 25, Perry 13, Adams 8, Prater 7, Evans 7 and G Adkins with 3. Snapp led Newport with 22, Williams and Murray had a good game as well. Not sure on their total points. Newport led from start to finish.

Thanks for all of the updates. Good win for GRC. I wish West Carter would have brought their A game. Sounds like Rowe had a good game. I look for West to be the top team next year in the 16th.

Just going by what they have done so far, a loss to Ashland, loss to East Carter, and a loss to Greenup. That score to Lawrence surprised me based on those games for Lewis. But you might be right that they could be a top 5 team come tourney time.

Couldn't agree more. I honestly thought Lawrence would have beat Lewis co by 20. And with the injury to Cam Sparks at East I think that sets them back some. I'd say Elliott is still the top team in the 16th, followed closely by West. Then you could probably throw in 8 teams or so.

I'm very surprised at that score. A middle of the pack team in the 16th region against the top team in the 15th. I think Morgan went into Louisa last year and came out with a win.
