  1. Lawrence from the 15th has a good shot to go. Can't count out West Carter in the 16th either. If the winner of Perry Central/Hazard were to get knocked off in the 14th Letcher Co Central may have a chance also.
  2. They both played well. I imagine Jordan shot over 70% and Banks had at least 7 assts if I were guessing. Several steals from each player. They both only played about 3 quarters.
  3. Final from Nicholas county. For Nicholas county Elijah Barnett 16 and Stafford had 8. For Morgan, Perry with 27, Banks 15, Prater had 12. Ryan Adams also scored in double figures but I'm not sure how many he had.
  4. Good win for Magoffin co. They are having a good year. That Russell kid is a real nice player.
  5. Paintsville led in scoring by Morris with 22 Morgan led by Jordan Perry and Ryan Adams with 19 each. Najeh Banks had 16.
  6. His dad says nothing to him? Not sure what games you have been to but that is not accurate at all. Coach Perry is without a doubt harder on his son than he is any of the other kids. Always has been. Maybe that is why his son turned out to be as good as he is. I mean regardless of the negative comments toward Jordan most agree he is a very talented player. Pretty sure his dad has been the biggest reason for that. He expects more from his son than he does the other players. Jordan's hard work has also put him in that position too. But Coach Perry is not the monster some make him out to be. He spends so much of his time in the youth leagues for Morgan Co kids. And they ALL love him. That is his feeder program and he does a great job of coaching, teaching and running it.
  7. I have seen Jordan play without a doubt 75% of all of his high school games beginning with him being a starter as a 7th grader and been to many many practices. I assure you that Coach Perry is harder on his son than he is any other player. So where those comments came from they are simple untrue.
  8. Congrats to these young men. And to Cordia for winning the tournament.
  9. Last comment I will make on the subject. Those ESPN guys get paid to critique players. That's part of their jobs. Most if not all of us BGP guys do not. I'm ok with the critiquing you have done on Perry's game for a few years now, but the bashing I'm not ok with. Not just for him but any other players for that matter. A lot of the Greenup fans would love to see Tackett gone and that is evident. We all get to hear about it after every Greenup game. But let's all remember he is a grown man and not a high school kid. Be fair to the kid is all I'm asking. I'll continue to support him and all of our kids. Our coaches too who put in so much of their time without a lot of extra pay to help teach these kids the game they all love. Peace out and good luck to Greenup and all of our kids the rest of the season.
  10. I hope you are not suggesting there is a better player in the 16th than Jordan Perry? While I admit there are some real good players I won't even consider there being a better player than Perry. I mean really? Oh, Morgan is in the drivers seat and looks like they will face East Carter in the first round of the districts. So it looks like West and Elliott will be battling it out to see who goes to Morehead. But seeing as how Morgan beat East Carter by 19 just two weeks and East's best player is out for the year I'd go out on a limb and say we'll see Morgan co at MSU come regionals. We all have opinions, I'll take mine over yours in this case though. Maybe you can poll your other Greenup supporters and see if they can say with a straight face anyone for Greenup or the region is as good as Perry.
  11. Very much so! I just hope for his sake he gets a chance to show his talents at Rupp! I do believe he surprised a few folks that were at the All A who hadn't had a chance to see him play and watched him go to work against a real good Owen co squad. He plays for a typical small 16th region mountain school and maybe if others seen him play they would appreciate his hard work he has put in and his talents.
  12. Couldn't agree more! All of our high school student athletes put in a lot of time to practice, and play games. I wish certain people would give more praise to these kids than degrade and analyze their games in such negative ways. Give credit where credit is due. Jordan Perry has earned that credit. Great kid and a great player!
  13. He did a few times. My thinking was because he had two 6"6 big boys standing in the lane. That plus I think he tweaked an ankle sometime in the 4th quarter. Still played great I thought.
  14. The kid scored 30 points last night and put up 37 more tonight against a real good Owen county team and you are still bringing up his flaws? Wow....anyone who watched him tonight had to be impressed. Man I hope Greenup gets out of districts and gets to face Perry's weak jumper in the region.
  15. I agree with you. I thought Morgan should have sped it up from start to finish too. And Williams is a beast! Morgan County head and shoulders above Elliott, Rowan and Boyd co this year. If they do not make it to Rupp I'll be shocked!
  16. In the first half Carson Williams drew the assignment of guarding Jordan Perry and Perry took him off the dribble several times and scored. That was a huge mismatch. But an even bigger mismatch was when Williams got the ball. He scored just about every time he seemed to touch the ball. Second half Williams guarded Prater for Morgan and Perry scored 23 2nd half pts. Williams was just too big and too strong for Morgan. Very proud of Jordan Perry and the Morgan County kids and the effort they put forth. Owen co is a very good team and with a dominant physical imposing player like Williams they will be tough to beat. Great game and a great atmosphere. Those that did not attend missed a heck of a game from two teams who left it all on the floor. Glad I got to witness it.
  17. I'd switch Elliott and Rowan since Rowan beat them last week. And I'd move Greenup co up a spot ahead of Lewis Co. Other than that I agree completely. Nice job!
  18. Adams is coming off of an ankle injury and he is showing signs of getting back healthy. He is a normal starter. But has given Morgan a good spark coming off the bench since his 3 or 4 games since his return. He is a 6"4 forward that can stretch the floor and help give Morgan Co another scoring option.
