Final from Russell. For Morgan county Michael Prater scored his 1000 career point tonight. Morgan was without leading scorer Blake Evans. Russell came back after being down 11 points to cut the Morgan lead to 2 in the 4th quarter.

Wouldn't count them out either, there are at least 5 teams that on a given night could win that region. Lewis taking Boyd to overtime tells me that Boyd is very beatable. Ashland may be the team to beat.

A surprise to me too. Elliott, after losing Spencer is coming back down to the rest of the region. They have had a good run. I'm sure when it's all said and done they will be right in the thick of things come district time though.

That's good stuff. I don't see Fleming cutting the nets down come tournament time. A 2 point loss at home to Menifee and Bath looks to be a lot better than people thought. Rowan is always is always a tough out too. That district is up for grabs I think, with Bath leading the way right now. I'd rank them Bath, Rowan, Menifee, and Fleming. It's still very early though.

After watching them play Morgan the other night I think they are too. They gave Morgan all they could handle and just about pulled out the win.

They don't have the size that they had then. But as far as athletes they have more this year. They aren't as talented as that team that went to Rupp, but this team is better than their preseason rankings.

Chris and Tina Helton. He's a 6"2 shooting guard and is a dunking machine. The kid can score and is tough to guard one on one. Most athletic team I have ever seen Morgan county have.

You are welcome. I look for Prater to have a big year, and average a double double. I believe he is within 100 points of the 1000 point club. Jake Helton should have a big year as well as Blake Evans shooting the ball. All 3 kids should average around the 15 point mark.

For Morgan they were led by sharp shooting guard Blake Evans with 17, Soph Jake Helton had 16, Prater finished with 14 points, he also had a lot of rebounds, not sure on the total for him. Josh Adkins had 12 and Cam Bush 10 pts, 9 reb for Morgan.

Wolfe county is a lot better than most think. I expect Wolfe to keep this game within reach for most of it.

I think it means that there are too many lopsided 1st round games. I'm not sure the fascination in it though.

Morgan counry QB sat out last Friday night's game at Sheldon Clark due to a concussion. If he plays for Morgan they may be able to put a score or two. Either way Casey county should win big. I'm going with Casey Co 49 Morgan Co 14.

Correction on those stats. Adkins was 19 for 24 for 323 yards and 4 td throws. Prater had 8 carries for 101 yards and 1 td rushing. Prater also had 9 catches for 224 yards and 2 td receiving. He also returned a kickoff for a td, added two 2 point conversions. And had 12 tackles on defense. I guess you could say he did a little bit of everything. Morgan rushed for 345 yards and three for 323.
