  1. Please explain your reasoning for Baker being the best coach in the 16th. I am not saying he is not. But they are just 12-11 and there are 6 teams in the region that have much better records. They also have 5 seniors on their roster.
  2. I watched the All A semi's with West and Elliott and West played well. Elliott should be the favorite to win the district. But like you said West isn't a cupcake game for Elliott. Plus the district is in Olive Hill this year.
  3. Do the tournament games such as All A and the Greenup county tournament count as district games? If so I would imagine East gets the 2 and Morg am the 3.
  4. East will play Morgan. One will be the 2 seed the other the 3. I think both teams will be 3-3 in the district. Morgan lost in overtime at East by 6 and Morgan beat East at home by 10 at home. So I'm not sure how the seeding actually goes.
  5. I personally wouldn't call it an upset since it was at East Carter. But most probably would say that Boyd was favored to win by 7-10 points. I know the region is down as a whole and probably won't win a game at Rupp. But that balance should make for a great regional this year.
  6. I hope everything is ok for Coach Adkins. You are correct. Elliott just didn't knock down the shots they usually do and really I thought didn't take advantage of their size. This was one of those games where if they play 10 times the Lions win 9 of them.
  7. Wolfe by about 35 against Riverside Christian. I'll take Breathitt by 10. And Breathitt over the Wolves by 8 in the finals.
  8. Good win for the Bobcats. Magoffin is really struggling right now.
  9. Elliott played bad but give Wolfe county credit. They did what they had to do to pull the upset. That Breathitt vs Jackson City game should be a good 1st round district game. I think Breathitt wins and moves on to play Wolfe in the finals.
  10. Ha Ha! The girl can play. I'll give you that. She will make a real nice player for Colorado.
  11. Final from Sandy Hook. Wolfe county slowed the game down. Wolfe trailed 18-12 at the half and just kept hanging around. Wolfe now moves to 4-18. Elliott county falls to 17-6. Major upset
  12. He doesn't guard the other teams best player because they have Holden Redparth to do that. He and Graham from Rowan county are probably two of the better defenders in the region. Why would you put your team's best player on the other teams best player??? It would make them very tired and hinder their chances of putting forth more effort on the offensive side. You said they lost to the other three teams that win, Boyd, Elliott, and Rowan I assume?? Morgan plays Rowan again, and Elliott maybe twice. Elliott beat Morgan twice by 1 point each time. So yeah I'd say Elliott is beatable. Heck Morgan and Rowan was toe to toe back in the EKC championship and Morgan had a chance to win that had they played as well in the 4th quarter as they did in the first 3 quarters. Morgan hasn't played Boyd county yet. Playing Lawrence county, a top 4 team, maybe not by record but they are a top 4 team in that region is not them playing the bottom teams. Again they play their schedule against teams that they can match up against. No one, Boyd, Rowan and Ellliott county included play the top teams in the best regions. You just don't do that when your region is regarded as the lowest of all 16 regions in the state. They don't play Piarist school from the 15th, Rose Hill, or Riverside Chrisitan from the 14th. And as far as Jordan Perry not being the best player in the 16th region here you go. Perry not only scores the most points, but in doing so he leads the region in scoring by more than 5 points a game. He averages 3.6 rpg as a shooting guard, and is 3rd in the state in scoring, and 16th in ft%, all while shooting over 48% from the field. He will finish as the 5th or 6th ALL TIME LEADING SCORER in Kentucky high school boys basketballl history!!!! Say that out loud and let it in sink in for you. Oh and against your Musketeers he lit them up for 54 points on 19 for 37 shooting. So if he isn't the best player in the region please tell me who is. And provide facts to go with that claim. And for you to say all he does is score....I thought that was the main concept of basketball, to score more points than the other team.Thanks. Looking forward to who your opinion is of the 16th region's best player.
  13. Morgan will beat East Carter and give Elliott county all they can handle in the district. Morgan is 11-5 in the region. They have played the top teams except Boyd in their region. Who are they supposed to play? Knott Central, PRP, Newport Central Cath, Lexington Catholic? Who else plays those types of teams from the 16th region? They are going to Lawrence county next week, a team that just beat arguably the best team in the 16th region (Boyd Co) by 11(were up by 30 with 4 min to go). They played Sayre and beat them by 22, an 11th region team that has a winning record and plays with the big boys from Lexington. They are playing Paintsville, one of the better teams out of the 15th region. Hate all you want on them, but they have the region's best player and 4th leading scorer in the state, and when you have a kid that is that good then they can be very difficult for teams in the region to beat. Rowan, Boyd, and Elliott included.
  14. A very supportive family goes a long way in helping a kid develop their game. There is a lot of running that comes with kids playing sports these days. A lot of time spent away from home taking their kids to and from practice, and games. Until that kid is old enugh to drive anyway. And ultimatley it falls back to the kid to push themselves to be the best player that they can possibly be.
  15. Incorrect. Morgan beat West Carter on Dec 13th 57-41 at West Carter in a district game.
  16. Holden Redparth also had 17 points for Morgan. Perry was unstoppable.
  17. I'll take Raceland by 14. Congrats to Blair. He is a very good player.
  18. I expect Morgan county's Jordan Perry to get an offer. 6"4 shooting guard that can light up the scoreboard.
  19. Elliott County Chase Porter 15 Hunter Holbrook 11 Spencer 4 West Carter Jordan 19 Brown 11
  20. Dalton Brown missed a 3 pointer at the buzzer that would have tied it.
  21. It should be a great game. Any one of the 4 teams could actually win it. So balanced in that district this year.
