  1. I haven't seen the dunk. But I can only imagine. Those Dalton boys are freakishly athletic! I would be shocked if they don't win the region and make some noise at Rupp! Fun team to watch.
  2. I think this is accurate. Elliott co has been the most consistent and generally produces 20+ wins per year. And you can count on either West or East being really good most years too. So it is a tough district for those 4 teams year in and year out. Like I said Perry is there as long as he wants to be. Only those who know the program well actually know how much time and effort he puts into the program. It is a year round effort on his part and he truly loves the kids of Morgan co. You win some and you lose some. Same as it is anywhere else. We all have things we would do as coaches sitting from the stands. But Perry has earned the right to step down when he feels like it I think. But that's just my opinion.
  3. Could be worse. Could be rooting for Bath, Menifee or Rose Hill who have obviously struggled more than Morgan. If you are thinking Morgan will get a new coach well that is not going to happen. Perry is there as long as he wants to be.
  4. A little of both. Lol. Morgan played as well as they could have in the 1st quarter I thought and only held a 3 point lead. Elliott made their open looks and Morgan did not. Elliott played a complete all around great game.
  5. I agree with you there. That is a lot of shots from two guys. Always heard three can carry two but two cannot carry three. Morgan had their two top scorers on the year at 28 and 15 per game. Then their next two at around 9.0 per game. And a kid off the bench at 6 per game I believe. So that third scorer is def a big help.
  6. Morgan has 5 Sr's and 1 So that get playing time. 3 Of the Sr's can score and the Soph. The other 2 Sr's are defensive minded players and average less than 2.0 points for the year and their career. The Soph hurt his ankle against Rowan and I do not believe was close to 100%. The other Sr that can score was not playing good defensive last night and was replaced. Who do you want shooting your shots? Your best two players or your kids averaging less than 2.0 ppg? The coach can't go out there and play for them. Not sure about the underperforming comment. The region this year was very balanced and overall Morgan had a good record vs the region. Last night was Elliott's night. Another night it could have been Morgan's.

  8. In case anyone wants to see the shot Perry hit to end the 3rd. https://mobile.twitter.com/JamieWYMT/status/702699968113430529?s=09
  9. Congrats Elliott Co. They played well. Morgan led after quarter one, 17-14. Elliott took over from there and Morgan had to play catch up. Elliott was up by 7 at the half. Morgan cut it to 3 on a 75 foot buzzer beater by Jordan Perry to end the 3rd quarter. Morgan missed a lot of ft's not only in the 4th quarter but in the game. Prob shot less than 55% for the game. Elliott vs West Carter Friday night should be a dandy!
  10. Wow! Bad call. Hate to see a team lose like that. The blind draw has to go. No point in having district regular season games.
  11. I am a little biased of course but I think it will be a great game. Its going to be jam packed and should be a great environment. Morgan has won the first two this year, but you can probably throw that out the window. It is district time and very tough to beat Elliott at their place. Jordan Perry needs 73 points to become the 16th's all time leading scorer. It's his SR season and I'm sure he's gonna do all he can to get to Morehead State and play in the regionals. If Chase Porter gets hot from 3 pt land then Elliott has a good shot to win. Spencer can drive and create foul trouble and Morgan only plays 7 in their rotation. If that happens then Elliott wins. If Morgan can push the pace and use their speed advantage and control the tempo I believe they win. Good luck to both teams. Should be a great one!
  12. I know this much. I've seen Trimble take far less talented teams and beat better teams a lot. So nothing surprises me with Raceland.
  13. In all honesty I'm shocked that Greenup lost. I really thought they had a shot to contend for the title. I thought they along with West Carter and Rowan have been playing the best ball in the region.
  14. In unrelated news Greenup lost to Raceland by 3. Another upset.
  15. They might. Elliott being at home is a big advantage. Morgan was 4 points better the first time and 17 better in round 2. I see it going down to the wire.
  16. Nice putback dunk by Jordan on that video toward the end. Jordan now has 3302 career points and is currently 9th all time on the Ky boys scoring list. Morgan plays at Elliott county Wednesday in the first round of the districts. Morgan has beaten Elliott twice this season but will have their work cut out for them beating the Lions for a 3rd time this season. If Morgan can get by Elliott that will give Morgan 2 more games and Jordan will have a shot at passing Jonathan Ferguson's 3375 career points. And move him into 6th on the list.
  17. Lawrence is going to be very difficult to beat in the region. If anyone can do it I believe it is Magoffin though.
  18. Magoffin rested one player tonight Mullins. The other starters played and played a lot of minutes. The game meant something for a lot of reasons. Senior night for Morgan county's 5 seniors. Revenge from a loss two weeks earlier. And to gain momentum going toward the districts. Banks did a great job on Lovely tonight. Magoffin has a nice team. Good luck to them in districts and region.
  19. Rowan was at home and played well. Antrobus knocked down 5 3's and Whelan had a good all around game. Any of the teams that make it to the region I feel like has a chance to go to Rupp. Greenup is playing real well right now. Gonna b a fun regional to watch.
  20. That's a good and much needed win for Elliott county who has been struggling as of late. Maybe this W will get them back on track.
