Glad to see Berea get him. I think Jackson will be a very good player. Has so much talent and athletic ability. Really enjoyed watching him play.

Najeh Banks. 6"0 around 150 lbs. Very quick, athletic, ball handler who can get to the basket and take guys off the dribble. Will be a big time player for the next two years.

I respect that. I understand the reasons for you to dislike the program and coach. I myself like coach Perry and admire the things he does for the youth of the county.But again I understand where you are coming from. A note on Jordan Perry, 5 games were cancelled due to the weather this past year. Would have given him another 100+ points probably.

As someone posted earlier Rowan beat Morgan early in the year. Their experience really helped them I believe in that game. Callahan, and Graham are gonna be very difficult to replace. Morgan lost Reparth, again an all around good player who will also be hard to replace. Elliott lost Holbrook and Sloas. Guess it just depends on how much each team improves. I am not sure if Ben Jordan is even playing basket ball this coming year. I figure after his injury he may just focus on basketball. But if he plays and is healthy then West Carter should be much improved. East still has key guys who will be back. Boyd should be decent also. Then there is Fairview who return several good players. And you can never count out Lewis co with their great coach. I honestly don't believe neither Elliott or Morgan will be unbeatable. I just feel like they have the best chance at this point to return to the regional finals.

No one said the kid wasn't a good player. But to put him in the same conversation as a few of the better players in the 16th is absurd. Rowan will struggle mightily to score without Callahan and Graham. They are not a threat to the best two teams which is Morgan and Elliott.

The bottom line is Jordan Perry only gets credit given to him by Morgan fans. There are a few who also give him credit. But a lot who want to critique every aspect of his game. The kid can play regardless of who he plays for. I mean here is a kid that tied for 2nd in scoring last year. Let's try and focus on the good things the kid does. And a lot people give coach Perry so much crap due to kids either moving in or foreign exchange students. It happens in every region and on a lot of teams. But for some reason some of those other 16th region teams and their fans do nothing but put the Morgan co basketball program down. Who wouldn't take transfers or a foreign exchange student that can play?

The same Whelan that averaged a whopping 7.4 ppg and shot 42% from the field. Doubtful he could carve any team up.

This thread is titled best teams and players coming back etc....didn't think It was put Jordan Perry down or put Morgan county down. Anyone, and I mean anyone who knows anything whatsoever about basketball that doesn't recognize Jordan Perry as the best returning player in the region knows absolutely nothing about the game of basketball. It is not an opinion that Jordan has been double teamed since his 8th grade season that is a fact. I, like many other Morgan co fans feel the need to have to defend the kid and his skills to people like you who just wanna talk about all of the negatives of him, his dad, and the Morgan county team. You guys can talk all you want, and continue to criticize....I for one always and I mean always recognize other kids in the region and their players and coaches. As far as him being triple and quadruple teamed I didn't say that. Someone else did.

That is very inaccurate. If Perry isn't open he passes the ball. You guys never cease to amaze me. You evidently haven't watched Morgan county play much.

I would imagine Ashland and Boyd will battle it out for the district title. A lot of it will depend in who plays for Ashland. I have just heard they have several good players who did not play last year, that may play this year. As of now I'd still put Boyd ahead of them.

Just love to watch the kids play and always root for the 16th region teams. I think the region is wide open again.

Lewis county very well could be one of the top teams. This is only my opinion. I am no expert on teams or players in the region by any means. Those are just the kids that I can remember from last season. Elliott lost their best inside player in Holbrook and their best defender in Sloas. They still have a lot of good players returning. Rowan lost a lot, but have some decent young players returning. Should be a competitive year again in the region.

He is a great player. He will be eligible and will be a Senior. Potential to be a top 5 player in the region.

Yes sir. Forgot him. Definitely a top 10 player. Still think East lost too much to stay ahead of West Carter for that 3 spot in the 62nd. Ashland could be a top 5 team in the region depending on who all comes out to play.

Just by watching the game on khsaa tv JC had no answer for Ballard's press. Way too many turnovers to beat a team like Ballard that simply has better athletes. Ballard has to do a better job of making their free throws though or they will get knocked off. Jalen Perry was the best player on the floor today.

I agree. But really shouldn't it be based on Sr year alone? It may happen that certain kids just aren't ready to compete at a higher level when they are freshman and sophomores. Especially in Kentucky's better basketball programs with competing with Juniors and Seniors. And in this case with Justice he has had a great high school career and Sr season. It says a lot about how much hard work this kid has put in over the years. May be bad examples but POY in college are based on that season and not their career. Same for MVP's in the NBA. That's why I feel it should be based solely on their season year.

Both great players. Perry is more of a slasher. He had over 140 more ft attempts than Callahan on the year. While Callahan is more of a 3pt shooter.

I agree with all of this. Those kids play a lot of ball in the summer too. I feel like confidence plays a big role with their team in close game situation. Elliott county looks to be a force for several years to come.

Well in the end it looks like none of us got a vote. And the player of the year was given to Perry. Callahan did play well in that 1st half against Elliott though. Just glad Perry has another year left to keep improving.
