Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions/Updates
Teams have to play the schedule and the players on the teams. It’s not an excuse and nothing to do with this game. I think it’s is silly to repeat when you got to play a full season, much less win state and win Mr Football. That’s just my opinion.

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions/Updates
When HS teams are within competitive range otherwise, a top QB is major. HS defenses just struggle to cover the field if he has any time to throw and an arm to hit the routes. Add in mobility and it’s a super advantage. CCH has a very good D. But I’m not sure the offense can put the points necessary when the D does get stops. If BW wins its will primarily be attributed to Cam being there If CCH wins it will be a credit primarily to Eddie and the coaches IMO But it’s HS and any given Friday...

CovCath/Elder. Highlands/McNic , Trinity/Lasalle. lots of good games crossing the River.

Yes. The official on the CCH side was clearly marking short on the 4th down but the other official was closer. The measurement looked less than an inch. Kicking had been a strength since 17 and it definitely hurt tonight on field position. Eddie should have had the hands team out there for the onside. They just scored quick and were still down 7.

Lexington Catholic at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates
Is Zion going to play? He missed Elder and his presence helps the defense and can stretch the opposing defense.

Covington Catholic Fan Base
I don’t think anything has changed. As for football, we need to get a full season in with fans in attendance to see what that feels like again. For all schools. Hard to have “community “ via computers.

Ditto the comment above about the offense being like last year. The defense was good except two bigger plays. Better QB and this could have been a toss up because The D held up pretty good, a few more first downs and one score on the possessions inside the five and this is a one score game near the end. It’s not disrespectful to lose but believe the teams were not lopsided. The QB draws just look like Eddie doesn’t trust them to run the offense they did in 17-19.

Highlands 77 Conner 67 (9th Region Finals)
Wow. Conner gave them all they could handle with some nice threes of their own. Multiple double digit leads.

St. Henry 61 Covington Catholic 60 (9th Region Rd 1)
Seems like senior heavy teams with a good big man has knocked the colonels out of the region the last 7-8 years, if they were knocked out. Captain Obvious I guess. I think at home or NKU the crazies are worth a few points.

Highlands Hires Bob Sphire
So maybe after they blew up the James deal they had to ultimately do what they didn’t do for James.....

There must be two horse mouths. Seems like a logical explanation. We’ll have to watch the staff to see what happens I guess.

Highlands Hires Bob Sphire
So, if the Franklin Co coach backed out because Highlands insisted he keep certain coaches on staff, does that mean Sphire agreed to do so? And which coaches were foisted upon him?

Look forward to watching the game next week. Always prefer the night game but you can’t have it every year.

BG was the better team as said, but not dramatically so. Which, of BG wins next week I just feel 5A is down this year. Both teams in the 2019 and 2018 title game were much better as well as 2017 CCH. Not sure how this BG compares to BG 2016? Someone from BG can opine?

No doubt it has been a great run. If we had been told that was the future in 2016 we’d have taken it in a heart beat. 55-3 and two title. Hope it goes on... Good luck purples.

I think the fact that the D kept the game even this close against 6 turnovers says a lot. I guess the QB draws continued because as good as Eddie is he couldn’t come up with anything for this group. I really think if Caleb had designed roll outs he would have had better views and thrown more confidently.

Bowling Green at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (5A Semifinals)
I think a Eddie let Caleb run so much this year he may have lost his pocket presence. Thinks run quickly.

Bowling Green at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (5A Semifinals)
As you approach 275, the right lane is for 275 and the left lane is for local NB 75. Most likely give yourself extra time and stay 75 NB to the Ft Wright exit. If traffic backed up way back to Florence you can take almost any exit to get over to US 25 which CCH is on. Everyone will Have the same idea so you’ll still need a lot of extra time.

Bowling Green at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (5A Semifinals)
Unless Eddie has a lot of new stuff on offense I fear this could actually go ugly. If BG is as good as many say and the Colones have their normal (this season) slow start and anemic passing it could be 35-7. Hope not. Having #10 finally on D is almost a shut down corner which helps the D overall. I think Caleb needs more roll outs with multiple receiver options. The Colonels probably need a flawless game.

I’ve said for awhile that having Caleb on designed runs up the middle so much was not a good sign. Mason has made an impact on defense but they haven’t seemed to utilize his speed in the passing game to stretch the field.

Highlands at Covington Catholic (5A Playoffs) Predictions/Updates
The Colonels better remember those 49 losses and come to play. The Birds have enough speed to score on any play and “any given Friday”. It’s one and done fellas.

The broadcast uses two student cameramen, a student on graphics and a student directing. The adults do the play by play.

Help where they need it. Speed on offense and corner. Not good when your most common play is QB draw. IMO.
