Fun Fact In 1989 the Camels last went to state. They had a catcher named Greg Franzen. His son Alex is the ace of the staff and a senior who now joins his team at the state tournament. Awesome! Go Camels!

Key moments in this game: 1) Camels plate 3 runs on Wednesday with 2 outs against Dove in top of first inning. Weather cancels remainder of play that night! 2) Rain on Wednesday delays completion of game until Thursday, Cards pitcher Dove throws 27 pitches making him ineligible for a Thursday restart. Opening round Scott pitcher Andrew Trame becomes eligible for the Regional Final as a result. 3) On Thursday blue skies and white clouds are interrupted 45 minutes before game time with 10 minutes of MILD rain, 6" of water in right field later game postponed, Cards pitcher Dove now able to pitch again whenever game restarts. 4) The game is resumed on Friday, Dove records last out of 1st inning 2 days later! 5) Dove leads off with hit and scores later in the bottom of 1st, score 3-1 Camels 6) Both teams go scoreless for next 3 innings 7) Dove gets leadoff single in the fifth inning, and 7 batters later, GRC scores 2 runs to tie the game, 3-3. 8) Camels get leadoff runner to second and strand him in the top of the sixth. 9) Franzen allows leadoff hitter on in Bottom of sixth, then strikes out the side! BTW it was top of the order! 1,2,and yes 3!!!! 10)Camels 9 hole hitter in seventh inning leads off with single, next four batters reach and score, scoring six runs in the inning. 11) GRC retired in order in the bottom of the seventh.

Simon is a good team but they are capable of being run on if you can pound it

63 points last two games with more possible points left un-scored. The offense the Connor faced is not the current offense. Camels need to run Dowds and Plessinger all night, and burn clock. We can move the ball on them, need to take care of pigskin and points will be scored. Defensively the Camels were hurt by big plays especially when rushing Padgett and allowing him to flush out. Need to have a controlled rush that collapses not one guy with more penetration than the rest. Defense also has too create one or two turnovers, big opportunity all season. Need to get off the field on third down, when we have them in a hole got to tackle in space. I look for our return game to continue giving us good starting field position. Camels by a nose! 28-21 Go Camels!

While I'm sure it could change I have seen extended forecasts of thunder storms Friday. Look at the last matchup between them and tell me the running team and the passing team. Even if it doesn't storm it will be a different game. Both teams will make adjustments from the prior contest.

And they won't be playing them the week after!

Terrible stance, did not breakdown, didn't run through the tackle, and got trucked because of it! I have had experiences in four different games this year where the band was playing during live play. Three were in middle of quarter while band was in the stands, and once behind goalpost just prior to half. No reaction by game officials.

Both teams seemed more run oriented to me. Boone's double tight, double wing might be perfect for conditions. They are too limited from spread, I don't think it fits their personnel. They can hammer #44 in the mud. Boone's D struggles against pass so mud will help. Connor seemed to be very Q oriented in run game from spread. Passing was ok, but they too stayed with run when I watched. I think Connor's D is a little better and might be difference. Good luck to both teams. Play hard, have fun.

Having just watched 3/4 of this game on Hudl, don't know what happened prior to this game in their season. One a thrower and other a runner? Any hints on their normal run pass mix?
