Good call. No sense both teams driving 1.5+ hours to play when they are only 20 minutes driving distance apart.

Wonder how the host school feels about this.

I'm sure Bourbon County isn't happy, but the game has to get in today. And I'd be surprised if they weren't asked if they were ok with moving the game. They did get to host 6 of the 7 tournament games, so they've made some money off the gate. But with the weather forecast, but in the 1.5 hours of drive time, you could play the game in the time it takes to drive to Bourbon County. I'm sure if GRC or Montgomery county had made the finals, the game wouldn't have been moved. It just makes sense with Scott and CC being so close to each other.

Not sure but kind of nice not have to drive the 140 miles round trip. I have done it for 4 days but a chance to watch the kids play for a regional championship I would drive that any day of the week but happy I don't have too.

I know I get it, just asking what the host school thought about it. Sounds like the decision was made this morning, which seems odd as well. Seems like you would make this decision in advance and not 2 hours before game time.

I have a feeling this was in the works once Campbell County won yesterday and everyone knew what today's weather report held. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have moved the game had GRC won. I'm not sure what approvals might have been needed, but between that and assigning umpires to the new location, they might not have been able to formally announce it until this morning once all that stuff got settled.

I'm not sure what rain NKY is expecting Saturday but it does beg the question, why not go to the Freedom stadium (if available) or Holmes? Both have turf and teams could wait out the rain.

The Freedom have a 6pm game, so I'm guessing that would make that stadium unavailable after roughly 2pm. But Meinken would make a lot of sense.

Meinken may have youth games.

Fun Fact

In 1989 the Camels last went to state. They had a catcher named Greg Franzen.

His son Alex is the ace of the staff and a senior who now joins his team at the state tournament.

Awesome!

Go Camels!
