Pound for pound…Scott Co. is best 5A team in the state. The problem is they were not as big as MC, WC, or Highlands and there lies all 3 of their losses. Second major shortcoming is their kicking game. You can’t give shortfields consistently to good teams and they did that to WC and Highlands. Did not see the MC game.

Big factor is QB fumbled snap on both those last two plays. On the interception (last play) SC had a wide open receiver but I am not sure QB had complete control of ball at release after picking it up off the ground. Just look hurried and disjointed.

Elite speed is very accurate for Pabst as well as a few more Tigers.

Forgot to mention how inferior Scott CO’s kicking game was. Lack of leg strength (?) gave the Birds great field position every kickoff…short kicks to 25/30 yard lines surrendered near midfield position after short returns. Only to be outdone by terrible punt game. Did any of their punts go 25 yards? Maybe, but just was shocked by how weak their overall kicking game was. Is this the Cards norm, or is someone hurt?

428 yards by Cards rushing. Young QBs overthrows (1 for 9) and 2 fumbles before half inside Highlands 10 made a huge difference in this game. Adjustments to mirror WoFo in 2nd half and pound Lorenzen was the game changer. High school football battle at its best.

Great winning TD pass. Did a freeze frame on my IPad…no question receivers feet were down in end zone. But I don’t think this is the reception BECharger has questioned and used the word robbed. Anybody got video of that play?

SC on Birds 6(?) yard line with 13 seconds in half, QB drops two consecutive snaps….2nd made him rush his throw to wide open receiver in end zone and Highlands intercepts. Highlands has generated minimal momentum as they have basically tried to force the air game. Lorenzan has minimal touches, must be saving him for 2nd half?

Or maybe their absence recently is because the school system split into two when Great Crossings HS was started. New facilities both academic and athletic diluted the talent pool and it has taken Coach McKee time to rebuild..

If the Birds don’t win this matchup, I would project it will be because of Coach McKee and his 29 years of fine tuning his WingT offense. SC cannot matchup size wise at almost any position. But they play like a swarm of yellowjackets…you don’t see the blocker coming and at contact the runner is already past you. Small, quick and deadly.

10 penalties…..that sounds like a lot.

On 9/28 Beechwood’s RPI was .72436. Since District play they have won 4 consecutive running clock games by combined scores of 263-6 which produced an RPI decline to .67523 and a current 6th seeding. Got to gulp a little.

My heart voted for the Cats. Want to believe a fire in their bellies was unleashed and that game against Texas is just the beginning. My head tells me it is just a temporary case of heartburn and the nitro glycerin will not be necessary.

Hard for me seeing the Polar Bears beating Pikeville. Just another level.

Bracken County has been building toward this year under Coach Tarter, and most surely hope he stays on after his son Dalton graduates. A truly solid year with the loss of their two best offensive and defensive players for the majority of the year. With both back they are ready to ratchet it up, unfortunately they run into Beechwood and Pikeville to close out the season. Ugh! Hope two losses doesn’t ruin their potential for a nice playoff run.

Rash will be the difference.

Have never seen a QB in goal line offense almost squat down barking the signals giving all of the D a clear view of the backfield. What is that about?
