All the Right Moves

We have predicated a Boyle Co-Belfry showdown all year. I predict neither. Central vs E’town in Lexington. Home teams are really tough to beat late in November.

And this is part of the re-alignment problem. 2 of the 4 schools mentioned here no longer exist, G'town and Cynthiana. Everyone is trying their best to only have 4 team districts and only old rivals, which would be great just not feasible. That was not always the case as I remember a time not long ago (1989) that Pike County alone had 10 small high schools. (Belfry, Pikeville, Dorton, Virgie, Elkhorn City, Feds Creek, Johns Creek, Mullins, Millard, Phelps.) They were almost a region by themselves by today's logic.

Game is at Central. Every prediction out there for the past year just went bust. To be the man you got to beat the man and boy did they ever beat the man. Central is now the team to beat in Lexington.

I said they would start the season 0-4 then finish 6-4 and win their district. Guess they didn’t get the message that they were supposed to lose.

Got nothing to argue with you about. I just made 2 statements that really have no rebuttal of you actually know them. Both are true. Best of luck on the search for a new coach.

Well one reason is they know football. Another is they win. Both go along way.

Bath County returns a solid group coming off a 20 win season and looks to have a great draw. Raceland, Fairview, and West Carter are on the other side of the bracket.

270+/-. Swartz over 2200 on season and a JR. Big TE Reed caught 2 TDs as well and also a JR along with Rogers, McFarland, And several others. Team had 450 rushing and over 500 yards total. Cats gave LC a fight. Bath Co went for 2 on last TD that would have cut it to 8 with a minute to play....and 90% of their team returns next year.

MoCo defends the pass well which is Fleming's existance. West Carter also defends it well and nearly beat FC at home. GC you should make note of that......

Will be close. Hard to compare offensive output when teams play 2 completely different levels of competition. MoCo has 4 wins over Woodford and Harrison (both 0-10), Breathitt (5-5 in worst district in 3A), and Lincoln Co (3-7) with a combined record of 8-32.

Bath County will show up, play hard and physical, and whatever happens happens. They aren't supposed to be able to compete right?.......

So is the 1st round chalk 1 thru 10 or is there an upset in there?

I think if Lawrence survives the bus ride they have a real shot. Run the ball and control the game.

You go for it without question or remorse. The opposing coaching staff would do the same and they completely understand. The only ones offended are the fans that really don't understand the game (and mommies and daddies) that get their butt's hurt over it.

If Garrard can get to Crump and/ or defend the pass decent they will win.

Power rankings have them dead even. If Garrard can defend the pass they will win.

They should be on there regardless. Will have to play well to beat Garrard.

I would agree if it would make high school more important than travel ball.

If that's the case then that would answer part of it but still a school with 1,200+ students and one of the largest in the eastern part of the state.

Can someone tell me how a 5A school in Montgomery County with a 4,000 seat arena and a “passion” for basketball is not near the top of the region every year?
