  1. See that's the thing I always found amusing about soccer. The fans love to complain about calls and the like but they rarely back up their accusations with video evidence.
  2. It shouldn't but that isn't the only factor in the call either. Talk to a truly experienced referee about that particular violation and they will talk your ear off. I stopped listening about 20 min into the explanation last time I took the youth ref class. Seriously though, I see 1000 cameras any time I go to a game and no one has video? I don't believe it
  3. Are there assigned seats now at soccer games?
  4. Tackle from behind is not automatically a foul. Just more difficult to do legally and carries a higher risk of being worse than a regular foul if it is a foul.
  5. I love write ups that make decisions about rules they don't understand. I realize the article is written with the bias of a Ft Thomas fan but seriously, don't use terms to describe a play situation if you don't know what you are talking about. Specifically referring to the "passback". Still waiting for video of the play too.
  6. That video I would like to see.
  7. No big deal, just surprised me.
  8. Wow, I got my first dislike on a comment for that last one. Not the one I would have thought would do it.
  9. That call could be scripted ahead of time with a weeks notice and people wouldn't like it. Doesn't make it wrong
  10. And when you get in the internet you weight those gloves. People need to get over themselves.
  11. Correct, I have no debate for that. It would just be nice if people had realistic goals and didn't keep the money train going for these clubs when they don't need to.
  12. That is the point though. The cause of the lower rec caliber is because those that would have played rec in the past now just shell out money for glorified competitive rec. High cost low return.
  13. That's a fairly recent thing though. Ask most of the adults that played as kids and see if they had rec program for that age growing up.
  14. Again I get that. But I have to ask why play club soccer and pay all the money for marginal benefit at most. Playing D4 level select in the lowest caliber league doesn't seem to be worth the money
  15. That sounds like a problem for the coaches and clubs. Not for parents and players that wise up to wasting money.
  16. Did he storm the field or chase the students that presumably led the charge?
  17. And thus my point is made. Why should players or parents be involved in clubs charging ridiculous fees when all they want to do is play? Let's not kid ourselves that most of them will not play beyond high school. Play rec, it is much cheaper.
  18. I agree which is why I said it shouldn't be used in high school. If you want to play "competitive" soccer, you need to compete for your spot to play.
  19. I've actually met enough people from foreign countries, 'partly Europe admittedly, that don't understand our re-entry policy on subs. They use FIFA laws even in high school soccer.
  20. I understand where you are coming from but the rest of the world does it and we have yet to catch up to them.
  21. I don't know about it for high school but I would certainly agree we should implement it for ALL leagues that want to call themselves anything other than rec. My reason for high school is because it is about participation not trophies, at least that is what the PR says.
  22. Soccer may touch the turf when football is not within a mile of the field. Otherwise they must sit and beg.
  23. I would say the ratio is 99 to 1 in favor of shared fields
  24. I would imagine the turf fields dimensions/ specifications are a constant so the khsaa only needs to be told once. The grass fields that occasionally host are where you get some variation.
  25. I'll take deep fried Oreos over popcorn.
