  1. Agreed there. But I would hope no one would do that.
  2. I would think there is a time period to this alma mater thing. Does it really matter where you went to school 10 or 20 years ago? I mean really.
  3. And? Are they the same school now?
  4. What is meant by home refs? Aren't they the same people that do games all year from up here?
  5. Probably was watching two teams that wanted to beat the you know what out of each other. Seems like this game had some bad blood going in. I don't seem to recall much as far as highlights from the regular season game so where would it have come from?
  6. Sorry, not the ref and not going to play scapegoat either. I simply have been to the ref course for youth refereeing. Matter of fact the guy in the middle teaches those courses. Being close to play is not enough to to make you guilty of offside. We watched videos for quite a while in the classes that showed examples exactly like this where the AR was wrong to pop he flag. Matter of fact the specific instruction we received from the power point was that if there is an offside player and an onside player both able to play the ball then you have to wait. It's not a popular view unless you are on the att king team but there it is.
  7. I knew this was going to come up. The second goal was a rare and good call by the CR. The player that was flagged for offside was merely in the area but did not become involved in play. The player that did get the ball was clearly not offside. Anyone that has taken a referee course recently will know this is the emphasis now. Wait and see. The flag was early but luckily the CR had his wits about him and put the flag down. It was a good game. Not my first pick to see last night but it was the easiest to get to. Good luck to all.
  8. Still not red. Yellow for sure. Not red.
  9. There is nothing better than being mean on social media to point out how bad it is to be mean on social media. I can't believe it is the girls soccer thread and not the boys that has so many nasty accusatory posts.
  10. Omg someone actually had the guts to post a video of a controversial play. Good call, good card, no red. Clearly more defenders to beat at the time of the foul.
  11. Ok. Sorry I misinterpreted your post.
  12. Officials? As in referees? How is this possibly their fault in any way?
  13. I would anticipate and even further limited pool of officials for this as it is Friday and early. We'll see
  14. Thus the world we live in. School nights I would have to think they just stay at school though.
  15. You do realize you are comparing the regulations a public vs a private school has to follow. No kidding the private school players can do what they want, they're private. Public school is regulated to the hilt because as plantmanky said they get sued every time someone gets offended.
  16. Man I really hate it when I find a dead horse. Especially when there are people still beating it.
  17. Probably because portable lights are loud, annoying, spew fumes everywhere and not all that useful unless you spring for the really nice ones. Hosting districts isn't supposed to be a money pit for a school. If everyone shares and rents a neutral site there is not problem. But asking my a school to spend money or share with another is like asking politicians to speak nothing but the truth.
  18. I've said it for years on this forum. There will never be neutral sites for this until the schools swallow their pride and share the cost of rental evenly among themselves. That will never happen though because they don't want to have to share.
  19. Unfortunately some leagues a refs don't know the laws and still show the cards. It's actually just a simple "you are dismissed coach" in USSF.
  20. The reason the policy exists is because a couple of years ago some soccer players were seriously injured driving to a game.
  21. I guess this one depends for me. If there was any player that had a chance to save this then he should be gone even if he thought it was going out. You shouldnt be close enough to the line to even make this a possibly as a coach anyway. If it was a ball clearly going out and no one was attempting to play it, and he touched it before it was out then yes there is a card but not a red. No offense but that is what ball boys are for. Let the ball go.
  22. Valid point. Doesn't help that they are going to catch 10 different kinds of grief from random people that don't know what is happening as well as grief from people who know just enough to not know anything.
