  1. Very nice but someone should tell that poor gentleman in the back that they messed up the U.K. on his blue hoody. Now it just looks silly.
  2. I was under the impression that the Wessels burst into flames if they didn't wear a blue colonel at least once a month.
  3. Then why do we have the All A tournament. *runs and hides*
  4. Ok it's gripe time. Having just looked at the scores for the 6 football state championships, how can football justify that many classes and none for soccer. For goodness sake only one of them was even remotely close.
  5. But you still just can't play until you have a score, that could take hours. A full soccer match is already over an hour and they often end scoreless. The reason other sports play OT is because the likelihood of ties after the OTs is so remote. With soccer that isn't the case.
  6. But what I'm saying is that it proves the fact that anyone has a chance. Just because they are from the same area doesn't necessarily mean they both don't have a chance. It emphasizes the randomness aspect. They have the discussion on the boys side pretty often but KHSAA is concerned with participation not necessarily the best team being crowned.
  7. Well no one has come up with a better way either. Soccer can't just play until they have a winner, it's a much more endurance based sport than most others that use that method. And if you start pulling players then you just have the reverse problem of PKs which players DONT you trust to play the game.
  8. Two sides to this argument. You could also be asking how two basically Lexington schools make the final, but it's a blind draw rotation so there really isn't anything to complain about unless you get the harder path.
  9. Because players always know the right call? Look it was close and may have been onside. The point is no one has given definitive evidence of their opinion.
  10. One correction, arm doesn't count. Only the parts of the body that can play the ball legally count. Your point is valid though.
  11. You can't tell anything from that video other than it was close. Congrats to Davies.
  12. Are we really comparing the tiredness factor from baseball to soccer?! Or pointy ball?!
  13. And the Oscar for best drama goes to BluegrassPreps Boys soccer forum. So proud.
  14. Schneider is the one that surprises me. He is arguably on one of the teams with the least supporting cast and managed to still stand out
  15. Will never happen. KHSAA has been steadfast in their plan to make a unified product of sports across the board in recent years. I imagine it makes their jobs slightly easier logistically for it to be the same in all sports.
  16. B. might have been been the reasoning behind the difference in high school(though I doubt it) but it's an absolute fact that according to high school rules time cannot be added with or without a 4th official. All the games from the point forward have a 4th official and regardless of that, time will be kept on the scoreboard and only corrected by the referee if the operator fails to start or stop when instructed.
  17. There was no stoppage time. If the clock was stopped and time kept on the field that just means the stadium clock hadn't kept up with the times the referee had signaled the clock should have been stopped. As imsays indicated, high school soccer stops and starts the clock for certain things. There is no added time like in spring soccer.
  18. Rule has always been that official time was supposed to be on the scoreboard. Nky just never did it. Time is up when time is up though. Ball in mid flight, doesn't matter no goal. Hence why I argued last year that schools should be required to have a speaker and horn in order to do it. Don't need refs trying to watch the field and the clock at the same time.
  19. Look, other than video you aren't going to know 100% or not if it was offside. That said, ill admit given the images we have seen, it looks like it should have been a no offside decision. They happen, and it stinks this one might have resulted in a goal. That said if this was the only legit attack of the night, then more could have been done to not make it the deciding factor. Now everyone please tear my argument apart.
  20. That may be true but while the game was chippy. It wasn't out of control. He was being a little dramatic at times. I suspect partly to try and work the ref, which wasn't going to work given who they had. Those that know him will agree, and the other part was that the Highlands coach looked to be saying some things to him at times as well. Obviously from across the field this is hard to see. I didn't mention these things originally because ultimately they are irrelevant to the game as a whole.
  21. I don't but I know someone that does. I just choose not to hunt them down to make them post it.
  22. It was a very chippy game from what I saw, I don't think it was ever out of control but emotions and tempers were right on the cusp. A few cards, one ref that was a second caution, well deserved she had accumulated quite a few fouls even after the first yellow. The goal was a nice bit of teamwork from ND. Highlands just didn't play that well from what I saw. Certainly not what I expected after the first shoreline.
  23. Forgive me for thinking people dedicated enough to bother posting in a soccer forum might also own a camera.
