  1. Well there you go then. You're a logical genius. Let me see if I can follow your logic and take it to its conclusion. Since none of them have a regional tittle, they must all be equally good. And, since they are all equally good, there is no sense in playing Cov Cath to play better competition. So, maybe they should be playing across the river to play better competition and prepare for the speed of the game. Guess you'll just have to ask them why they are not.
  2. Is that the sound of someone beating a dead horse?
  3. Too many missing from CCH. Unfortunately, I'll probably lose a friendly lunch wager with my boss who is a St. X grad. Probably out for CCH: Ballow, Day, Kenney. Not sure on: Schuh, Litzler, Nurre. I say 3-0 St. X.
  4. So how does seeding work if you don't play any district games?
  5. Also, they have given up 1 goal all year to St. X L'ville.
  6. Covcath freshmen roll through the freshman regionals by a combined score of 15-0 with maybe the toughest draw. They beat NCC 4-0, Holy Cross 4-0, St. Henry 3-0 (although my son said this game was 4-0, I only recall 3 goals), and finally Ryle 4-0 in the final.
  7. My son played with him years ago on a team out at SOAS. Great kid. Wish him a quick and complete recovery. New when he was 12 he would be special.
  8. It should also be said, Ballow had three goals, and was taken out early in the 2nd half after scoring his third goal. The coach was not going to let him back in to score more despite being only 2 away from the school single game scoring record. He definitely had a chance in this game. Given the recent discussions about another team on another thread, just another way of approaching things.
  9. I guess this just proves that two people can watch the same game and see two different matches. I thought the BC shot was more of a floater, that the CCH goalie should have dealt with. Plenty of time to react, but seemed frozen in his tracks. Maybe the lights were in his eyes. I thought foul calls were pretty even in this game, but shouldn't have been. Center let too much go on the Boone side, especially late when they were probably a little frustrated with the score. Mayberry is a good player, and I can understand why he is frustrated, however, he should have been penalized on a number of late tackles that were not called.
  10. I didn't expect so many in singlets. Which one were you?
  11. Does anyone know how much it costs to get into a game at Boone? I only have $5 on me and don't want to stop at an ATM.
  12. When I lived in Chicago I used to drink a beer called Augsburger. Really liked it. Then they stopped making it. Heard they started making it again, but I never see it around NKY. Just came to mind, and I thought I'd share.
  13. In the long run, I don't think it's how winning programs are made. So you win the JV tournament, who cares? I played HS football. As a sophomore, I played JV. A junior that played significant minutes on varsity would also start ahead of me and play most of the minutes in the JV game. The varsity coaches could never figure out why we would have 80 eight graders go out for football, but only 10 seniors. Most had quit after their sophomore year.
  14. Haven't heard anything from ScottEagle in a while. Hope she's not in forum jail with nutmeg. I think she would have said something like... "We'll sour mash Bourbon. I say it's 16-0. Treadway gets 14, Schneider 2. Morgan gets 17 asists. Game ends at haftime"
  15. I agree. Great game plan, and it worked. HHS needed to stay disciplined defensively, and attack when they had the chance. They did both well. Why not let CCH shoot from 30 yards out when you have a quality goalie. That's not CCH's game. Few on the team with enough power to score from there against a good goalie. Those shots just ate time and played into the HHS strategy. CCH is simply not good enough at this point. Blame really across the board. They need more production from their forwards. Three up top seems like the opposite of the answer for them. Outside they need to make better - quicker decisions. Defensively... well its not hard to score when a good player is allowed to dribble to the edge of the box and take an uncontested shot.
  16. And, to the HHS fans that stole the CCH magnets off the back of the cars in the parking lots. Classy!
  17. Yes. OTB is quite the philosopher. That must be why he spends so much time contemplating his navel.
