SITUATION 4: A2, taking a penalty kick, approaches the ball and then stops abruptly. Because the kicker stopper, in all scenarios but (a), the defenders get the ball in some way. I don't understand why (a) is a re-kick. Based on the other scenarios, I would think it would be an indirect for the defenders.

Do private schools "entice" kids away from public schools when they play one another? synonyms: tempt, lure, allure, attract, appeal to There is no blanket yes or no for the question. But if on a witness stand, forced into a yes/no answer. I would go with YES. Just playing against another team, could entice-attract-appeal to an athlete to want to go there. Seeing a schools facilities, academic & athletic, interaction with the other team (kicking our butt with class vs total jerks), even interaction with the other teams parents/fans will have an impact. Many variables involved in deciding where to go to school - and play sport X. Each variable is weighted differently by the family, and even weighted differently by mom, dad, and student athlete. The weighting would be fluid and dynamic as new information comes in. Playing a team, particularly at their brand new facility, could increase the weight/score... IF SAID PLAYER/FAMILY was already considering a change - whether it be active or passively. So that one game/match could be a tie breaker. I don't think private vs public is always an advantage. Clearly a lack of a district boundary has a positive impact to primarily private schools scores. Some public schools have that same advantage. Now I'm having a mental flashback to the TOP 10 episodes on the Military Channel.

I BELIEVE that Highlands still gives a pass to Ft Thomas seniors. Show a drivers license somewhere - district offices maybe - to get the pass. Don't know all of the requirements, address, age, etc Pretty sure there is a senior price at the gate.

Brutal conditions. Had to leave at the end of the 3rd. Soaking wet. Couldn't keep the lens dry any longer as the wind was getting stronger.

Maybe... There are plenty of d2/d3 football games and I'm betting most of those players don't believe they are on their way to the nfl. They play because they love the game. That's when it is the most fun to watch.

I'd rather walk 2 miles to a high school game than get a helicopter dropoff at the 50 yard line of a NFL game

Haven't heard. Normally, I would find that stuff out at the freshman game on Thursdays. Harvey screwed that up too!

I wouldn't mind getting to shoot a mud bowl game every once in a while, but agree 120% that the player safety takes priority, and preventing the destruction of the field a close 2nd.

I'd like to see high school on Friday and Saturday, college on Sunday and Monday nights, and the NFL go away...

I didn't search hard to see if it's been discussed on here before. Not that it will ever change, but... I liked that CovCath did not have lights. It meant that at least 1 weekend every other year I would get to go to both Highlands and NewCath games. The rescheduling this week due to possible/probable weather impact means I MAY get to go to games on Thursday, Friday, AND Saturday. So I'm wondering how many other high school football fans would want to go to more than 1 game a week? What would it do to attendance numbers if there were games scheduled on Fridays & Saturdays? **not a fan of regular Thursday games since there is school/work the next morning. The more casual fan may not go to a Thursday game because they have to work early on Friday. I am already dreading tomorrow morning. But as I type that, I'm reminded of the soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball games that go late during the week. Player recovery time between games would be an issue though. It may not matter in parts of the state, but in the higher density areas... Louisville, N Ky, Lexington(?) There are multiple "good games" at the same time every Friday... Football Friday Nights are a community event. Would it be the same on Saturday... We'll never know...

I dislike it only SLIGHTLY less than ending it on penalty kicks. Hate the penalty kick OT. But, playing more minutes in a 0-0 game would be brutal as well.

I'm hearing several games in N Ky are discussing moves. Highlands at Scott Co is supposed to have a decision around 1pm today.
