What kind of speed does Jones have?

IMO, It will be Beechwood players under pressure trying to live up to the hype. As for Beechwood facing other teams aces ,They might see the aces in district games, but beside that, they will probably need to make sure they can hit the off speed pitches. I'm not sure about the whole team, but several can hit the heck out of the fast ball , but not as effective with the off speed junk.

I think IMO it is not the budget of the school, but the impact on the parent's budget. I think there is enough conditioning and open gyms at school for football and basketball to keep a player growing in those sports, but to keep growing in baseball, I think playing competitive summer ball is a must. There is a big difference in cost to attend summer workouts at school and to play summer baseball. IMO, That why you see a drop in interest and level of play at the schools in question.

Umpire fees alone is more than 1000.00, Throw in uniforms every couple of years, game balls, field maintence, etc. Baseball is very expensive. It might be were parents cannot afford to have their sons play baseball outside of school, so baseball might get some interest loss. To play competitive baseball in the summer to elevate your game gets more expensive each year.

What is everyone's thoughts on the BBCOR bat. Has it affected the power output? Has it brought to light the true hitters? Seen no change from older types of bats? What would you say is the best BBCOR on the Market. Is it the new Easton, Marucci Elite? What bats would you say has the most pop?

What thoughts are out there for Cooper this season. Has the new coach completed his coaching staff.? What players are going to lead the way for the Jags?

Boone coaches have to be re-thinking their bad choice of adding a new player to their roster so late in the season. It might have been to their benefit to have the kid practice the last several weeks and start fresh next year. Hard to watch a kid play who didn't know the plays or instincts of the other players. The chemistry that was built during their great season was destroyed in a matter of 2 games. One hard working starter lost his spot And Others moved to accomadate new player. Pretty big game to play with the lineup.Heard tonight coach was blaming the players for lost team chemistry. Players were told at least 3 starters were Not starting next game against Holmes. Wonder if it will be the three players who got technicals. Let's hope the right decisions are made to end the season on a high note.

What is everyone's thought on a defensive lineup based on the team listed above. Here would be my guess after watching school and fall ball seasons. 1st- Ganns, 2nd- Huff, SS- Purnell, 3rd- Martin, LF- Johnson, CF- Stanley, RF- Faehr ,C-Rodersheimer. Is the list accurate or just a guess of a possible roster. Kind of surprised of one player listed and several players not listed.

IMO, Ganns will be the Ace at the start of the season. Purnell and Huff will battle for the 2nd spot and the rest will fall in w, Behrens getting the nod as closer. Might get a cleaner picture after a defensive lineup is made.

Boone did get their share of away games! Looking for Boone to have a strong season. Boone has several JV players from last season who should help fill any voids from parting Rebels. Junior Blake Roedersheimer. - catcher, Soph Jeffrey Purnell - SS/ RHP, Nathan Davis - RHP should all contribute to the Rebel cause. All three were part of the Bluegrass organization. Blake and Nathan played for the Buzz and Jeffrey was a member of the Bluegrass Lions.

After watching several Boone games , I would have to agree one of the coaches sometimes goes overboard on his behavior, which I feel shouldn't be used at any level of sports. The coach seems to have a real high basketball IQ, but just needs to try and control his emotions. This is more at the JV level and not at the varsity level but that team plays hard and knows how to win. On Boone's recent slide, I don't know what goes on in their practice, but what I seen in the games is maybe their issues is with level of competitiveness , not coaching. The last several games they have been getting beat on rebounds, loose balls, etc. IMO, You will start seeing more playing time at the varsity level for several of the JV players. It seems they have more fire in their attitude which I feel is missing at the varsity level.

Any word on a new coach yet?

Unfortunately, The ump's strike zone got real small in the last inning. Both teams had to throw more pitches than needed. I think the darkest might have contributed to the Blue's problems in the last inning, but he was very inconsistent the whole game. Like from another post, batters were not sure what was a strike or a ball. Last night, we had pitches down the middle for balls and near in the dirt and outside as strikes.

I heard today that all of the baseball coaches from every level has been let go at Cooper. Any word on this.

Ryle wanted to win, but their defense was a little shakey. Boone pitched Huff and Klein. Without a few questionable calls, The score should have been 5-0 win.

Boone has turned up their game and has won districts tonight against Ryle.

I agree Coach Meyerhoff has done a great job with this JV group. Boone JV has several very talented kids who will make a nice addition to the varsity squad next season.
