Boone County 38 Cooper 36

Featured Replies

Boone wins , gets #1 seed. Great job Rebels!

Big NKY GCL battle (otherwise known a a 33rd district contest). I said before the game first one to 50 wins.

Despite the low scoring it was fun to watch.

McNeil had 16 of the first 18 for Cooper to get them to a nice lead at half.

Just like the last game Boone came back in the 3rd qtr to make it a game.

Zack McNeil hit a 25-footer to tie it with 16 seconds left.

Boone ran one last play. Mayberry took the handoff from Stanley going to the right sideline and then down the right baseline. Found himself behind the board. SHot it anyway. Knicked the front edge of the side of the board and went right to Ordu (sp?) who laid it in with one second left. Ball game.

Not one that will go down as a classic for either team. Think the baskets had lids on them. Nothing was falling for either team. Was fun to watch though and good Crowd.

Also got to spend the game with Clyde which makes any game worthwhile.

Brackets for the 33rd?

I believe it's Boone/Ryle and Cooper/Conner.

Should be a dandy. Anyone have to play Heritage?

I think you need to come to the Cooper Conner game, I'll even let you buy me a coke.

Should I be convinced that Boone should be #4 Clyde?

The McNeil bros are so solid fundamentally. They threw more bounce passes tonight that I think I've seen out of the entire 9th region this year. Think about how few times you see a bounce pass any more on the perimeter.

A little surprised Cooper lost but expected a low scoring game given how well Cooper defends and forces teams to use a lot of clock during possessions.

Obviously a big win for Boone with them earning the #1 seed.

There's obviously the "big 3" and then everyone else. Dixie/Cooper/Boone IMO are about the same. They'll beat each other but they're the same level. All 3 have limitations. They can beat everyone other than the big 3. They can lose to each other.

In a tourney game the team I would fear the most is Cooper. They play the best D and can make life hard on you. However, they can also be low-scoring. History, though, says the 9th region tourney games are low-scoring which feeds right into Cooper's strength.

What part of that would you disagree with?

I agree with Clyde's assessment.

Flip a coin in this district. Ryle, Boone, Cooper and Conner, just like the girls district, all have beaten eachother.

Parody at its finest, which you would somewhat expect in how the county is set up.

I am going to really miss watching Sean and Zach play together. It was a shame Sean was injured for a good portion of the season. It would have been nice to see them together more than we did this year. Nice article about the two of them that I would like to share:

One thing I bet Coach McQ is aggravated about is how many loose balls Cooper either caused or came up with. Boone simply never went hard after a loose ball. Zack McNeil did and Cooper got at least 5 points I can remember directly off of those types of plays by Zack.

Deal.
