  1. Aviator, Welcome to BGP and nice work with the Bracket!
  2. One good place this summer to watch some of the best sophomores is Meyerhoff's Bluegrass Lions. Looks to have another strong team. Here are a few of the sophomores from this team making some noise this spring, 1) Jeffrey Purnell - Boone 2) Kenton Hibbard- Boone 3) Daniel Dahms - Boone 4) Jacob Sisson - Cooper 5)Ryan Bankemper- BW 6) Kyle Rowe- BW
  3. It was great to see a pretty good crowd of students from both schools.
  4. I would disagree on the Doc Morris game, both teams fought hard, but the defense you seen from Boone at that game was no where close from a normal game. Anyone who has watched Boone this season would agree you are not going to see that type of defensive game in a while. That field is in major need of a good rolling in the infield and the outfield needs the valley removed from it. I would agree all the district teams are pretty close together, but I wouldn't gauge much off that game except both team kept their heads up and battled to the end.
  5. Unfortunately, It was a game played on the worst field in the area. It came down to which team got the last bad hop. Early in the game, Cooper got the bad hops and drop fly balls due to the field conditions and toward the end , Boone got their share of the field monsters.
  6. Yes, he was the reliever against Conner and Cooper, picked up both wins. He has also been leading the Rebels in reg season batting avg this season.
  7. If you watch the video , the shooting happened within seconds after the slowing moving car and walking officer left the camera view, hardly time for a car to speed off. The smoke you see in the film is where the car comes to rest. I think that officer lost control of his emotions and made a very bad decision. The video backs up what a lot of witnesses reported. About the report,After the shooting and the officer realized he made a fatal mistake, do you think he is going to cut his own throat. I feel he is probable a good guy who took this job to do good things, but for some reason didn't handle this in the right way.
  8. Does anyone know if Police officers are required to take a drug test if they are involved in a crash or shooting? Most companies require employees to take a drug test if an accident/injury happens at work. Also, has anyone who posted on here change their opinion since the video came out? It seems the officer's story doesn't quite match the video. IMO, There is a huge difference in a car speeding up and hitting him onto the hood and a car going 5 mph and him walking beside the car. The foot injury could be where the car ran over it while he was walking beside it . I guess we will see what happens when all evidence has been collected and verified, hopefully by an outside party. It is disappointing that KSP decided not to investigate the case.
  9. IMO, There would have been a play attempt at home if Boone chose to push it no matter who was running, but with no outs and Boone's top batting averages coming up to bat it was smart not to risk giving Conner a mental boost w a good play at the plate. Per Boone's stats, Johnson and Purnell are hitting over .400 for the reg season and Johnson, Martin, Purnell are at the top w/ Ganns w/ RBI's. Boone has had too many outs this season trying to get the extra base, so I feel it was a excellent decision to hold the runner. As on not using Floyd , with Floyd already used as a courtesy runner earlier in the game, could he come in as a pinch runner ? I'm not up with all the rules on enter/re-enter runner rules.
  10. It was nice to see the Rebels back on the field after another week of rain outs and it felt good to play at home for the first time in five weeks. Both starters had a great game. Leaving runners on base kept Ganns from a chance of picking up another win. Purnell comes in the 7th for Boone to pick up his second district win and gets the walk off hit to end the game. Great team effort. Hopefully, Santomo's (sp) leg injury is nothing severe and be able to keep his hot bat in the lineup. On a side note, It was nice to see fans from both teams having a good time, sitting together and having a great time. Excellent Game
  11. Purnell started for Boone , went 4 followed by Davis and Gieske one inning each. Sorry don't have names for Dixie.
  12. Final from Edgewood. Game was included in the Reds Futures High School Showcase. Dixie came out hot in the first inning and got 3 across. Boone settled in and clawed back to make it a tied game of 4-4 in the top of the 6th. Dixie added 3 more in the bottom of the 6th to claim the game. Boone 001 003 0 - 4 8 2 Dixie 300 103 -7 8 0
  13. Another good game for the Rebels. Starter Johnson did a nice job today. Good relief by Behrens and Davis. Good offense and defense capped off by a great diving play by LF Mayberry late in the game. Nice too see Finn and Davis back on the field from their injuries. Great day Rebels!
  14. First game of a two game day. Starter Rodersheimer had another fine outing. Sasher was the closer. Rebels had a few base path mistakes which helped keep the game tied 1-1 late into the game. Somerset went ahead in the top of 7, but Rebels finished strong and got the comeback win. Great game by both teams. Very nice complex at Franklin County High School
  15. :thumb:Welcome scott2936! Sounds like your first thread start is a hot one.
  16. Was Ganns and Dunn the only hits out of the infield? Also, I think the Purnell kid from Boone had multiple hits , possible 3 based on how they were recorded.
  17. Conner seems to be on a roll! Great win for the cougars!
  18. How about game stats? Who pitched, any good hits, plays. You have to love the district games. A lot of emotions flowing.
  19. I heard it was a low throw that had the fielder falling over to get the ball in the base path. A parent had it on film and the runner had a perfect slide and shows the defense player going down to get the ball into the base path. I know there is always three sides, home crowd, away crowd and the truth somewhere in the middle.
  20. Who has stats? Heard it was a 1-1 game until a terrible call by the field ump against Boone, which seemed to fire up the Rebels. A very bad interpretation of a rule gave Cooper a dbl play, but Boone tacked on 3 runs with two outs. Great Win for Boone
  21. Actually, It was a great outing by Blake Rodersheimer. I'm not sure of the stats but he went 5 innings and kept Boyle Co's bats very quiet. His off speed pitch was working really nice yesterday. Combine the quality pitching with the Rebels bats made for a Boone win. On a side note, Now that the tournament is over, they should be able to continue their cattle farming on the field. Holy Cross did a fine job on running the bracket, but that field is great need of work. You had to hold your breath on every ball that hit the ground, because you didn't know what the ball was going to do. I feel sorry for the teams that have to use it on a regular basis.
