Beechwood 2014

Featured Replies

Beechwood looks to be the strongest team coming out of the 9th region. Beechwood only lost one senior who played most of the time last year. With Stringer, Combs, Suchanek, Slusher, and Fieger coming back, what all can we expect these Tigers to go and how far? Thoughts?

The Tigers have a cake walk to the regional as long as they don't face Cov Cath in the 1st round of districts. They should be able to save the most pitching and be prepared to make a run. It all depends if the 'Big Three' get any offensive help this year or if Mullins tries to save Suchanek for the final game which cost them the chance to play for the title last year.

Agreed. As long as Beechwood is the #1 or #2 seed they should easily be able to get to regionals. And plus, Beechwood has lots of pitching to use against holmes or holy cross to save suchanek, stringer, combs, randolph, and fieger for regionals/semi state if they get that far.

Does anyone know Beechwoods possible starting lineup for this spring? Where do you see who playing where?

This is pretty much in the ninth region predictions why start a new thread on it?

This could be the line up based on last years games.

1) Stringer CF

2) Suchanek SS

3) Combs 3B

4) Slusher LF

5) Schimdt C

6) Hamilton 1B

7) Booth 2B

8) Fieger RF/P will probably play Cf when Stringer pitches

9) Allen / Rundle / Colosimo will depend on pitching rotation and the spots they need them to fill.

Again this is just my guess.

Trevor Booth, I believe, has committed to play at a DIII school.........kind of gets lost in the "super sophomore" talk but very solid player.

Not sure how that district tournament is set up but in all honesty they should be able to use those pitchers in districts and then use them again the next week in regions. That is of course if the district tournament isn't played later in the week where the players can't get adequate rest before a Monday regional game.

Not going to lie, I am baffled by your "..." posts. Not sure what they are intended to mean.

And to answer this question:

This is pretty much in the ninth region predictions why start a new thread on it?

Because that thread was about the ninth region as a whole (18 teams I believe across the 4 districts) whereas this thread is about Beechwood and Beechwood only. It allows for more concentrated conversation without interruptions.

How are rundle, allen, and colosimo? I know rundle and allen got reps with varsity. This is the first with colosimo probably. What do you look for in the bench players for varsity? Any other bench players?

One of the best gloves in NKy. Slick and smooth in the field.

There is a Highlands thread too Rock. I like it when there are individual threads on each team . I would love if dinger would start a Ryle one, nku start e Dixie one, etc. I dont know what all is back on each team.

I'll most likely start a Dixie one next week or so.
