What happen to Voight at Knox Central? They lost to Clay County by one in the region semi's, not a bad showing for first year. I look for Todd Messer to be the next man at Knox Central.

Lets be honest here another reason they do it is so they do not lose. Travelers are the only Nike sponsored team in Kentucky so if they lose to a team in the state their own age that will not look to great and if they play up and lose then it isn't as big of a deal to lose then. If they played their own age and won they probably wouldn't receive a great amount of credit as most would say that they have the best kids and this is what they are supposed to do. If they had played their own age in state it would be interesting to see how many state championships they would have, 1-2 or 3? I might be wrong on this but I believe playing the 16u team in the 17u state is the only non Nike event that either of the Travelers teams play all year.

Bud Mackey was the best player in the class but never made it to college (signed with Indiana) either but they say he is looking to make a comeback soon. Charlie givens says that Bud Mackey has never been better and will be released soon.

Ohio County could have had their own team with Trace Young who is now at Apollo, Justin Miller who won state championship at Owensboro and Conner Wilson who has a d-1 offer from North Texas. All Three from Ohio County and none played there this year.

Darius Miller was Mr. Basketball and was the best since Lofton, in fact he was better than Lofton from the status he controlled the game on both the offensive and defensive end rebounding and scoring. Some would say Preston Knowles as well.

Two coaching hires were announced in the 3rd region yesterday. Steve Sparks named head coach at Ohio County, bringing his brother Steve and son Patrick to Ohio County with him. Neil Hayden leaving Owensboro Catholic for Daviess County. He didn't teach at O-Cath he was teacher at Apollo so this makes sense to state in the public school retirement system.

According to TMCSports Twitter in Owensboro "Sources have informed TMC Sports that Neil Hayden has stepped down as head boys basketball coach at Owensboro Catholic." Many think he resigned to be named new coach at Daviess County but nothing for certain on that.

The We All Can Go team that finished 3rd at 7th grade D-2 was actually their 6th grade team playing up a grade, they did have a couple Kentucky kids on that team, Colton Fraley from Pulaski County and Vito Tisdale from Bowling Green. The We All Can Go 7th grade team finished 10th at the 7th grade D-1 Nationals, yes both of those Kentucky kids were on that team.

Rod Thomas and Ryan Mathis were on the D-2 AAU National Championship team from Kentucky that won it all this past summer in memphis.

What publication has Louisville Moore top 20? Unless they have a whole new team they will be borderline top 20 in Jefferson County, they only won 4 games last season. What publication has Casey County top 25? However, looks to be an exciting day of hoops.

With Brandon Berry at Taylor County now I think they are #1 in the region and also if they get the kid from Thomas Nelson ruled eligible they will have the most talent. I think the game between them and Bardstown will come down to who has a better game between Cowherd and Goodin.

The only 4th region player with a D-1 offer is 6'3 senior point guard for Warren Central Kobe Caldwell. I believe he has two from Austin Peay and Winthrop. Lovan may have one as well.
