With Brandon Berry at Taylor County now I think they are #1 in the region and also if they get the kid from Thomas Nelson ruled eligible they will have the most talent.

 

I think the game between them and Bardstown will come down to who has a better game between Cowherd and Goodin.

FWIW, those previews have to be sent early in the summer (before it was known if Berry was eligible, or the foreign kid Taylor got, or Morgerson leaving Thomas Nelson for Taylor).

 

Also before Gavin Root left John Hardin for North Hardin and before Elijah Smith was injured playing football (which decimates JH's backcourt outside of Miller).

 

Also, player rankings are done by coaches on a 10-9-8 points scale. Each coach in the region votes for 10 players and ranks them. So how they are ranked are in order of the votes/points they received (not a whole lot of Hardin County bias with only one Hardin County player in the top 8).

I believe Mason Faulkner is way to low! If we are ranking just the top 10 based on talent he avg 25 a game last year. Yes I know his team was horrible but you put him on a team where he has help then I don't believe he would be ranked. Who is foreign kid taylor got? I believe Gavin Root made a bad decision heading to North Hardin. He wont see much playing time there.

I'm going to disagree with that. Faulkner's good and would stand out anywhere — just not scoring 25 per game.

Losing Elijah Smith is a huge hit for John Hardin. Gavin Root not so much. John's issues will not be their backcourt, it will be down low. They have another kid named Tony Thomas who is a very good shooter and some young kids who can certainly play in the backcourt. Their lack of height will be what ultimately does them in IMO as I believe their only player with any size is a Freshman named Mickey Pearson who goes about 6'3" on a good day. Witherspoon is around 6'2" but is not a low post player. Other than that, they will be a guard oriented team who presses most of the time.
