I was wondering this same rule cause right now a kid can play varsity basketball in 7th and 8th grade for a particular school then move schools to a different school and still live in the county they originally played in without having to sit out. I was wondering if this would change down to the 7th grade once you have played a varsity second you can't move like it is now in the 9th grade. I assumed this would happen but didn't know what year it would happen.

There is no falsehood their story isn't fabricated and is legitimate but we will see. It wont happen until the school year begins I assume. The student did play summer ball with new school but that doesn't matter, you can play with 30 schools in the summer if you want. When hear the results, will pass along.

Depends if the private school is a KHSAA private school or a private school like Winchester Christian etc. If it is a private school that isn't a KHSAA school it doesn't matter, if the kid didn't play a KHSAA varsity second last year they can go anywhere they want, they have sat out their varsity year. Example, if a kid played varsity at Clark County as a freshman, went to Winchester Christian as a sophomore and played, he can go anywhere he wants as a junior and still live in Winchester as long as the school will accept him, KHSAA can't rule him ineligible states in their rules. If goes to a KHSAA private school the more information and documentation you provide about the hardship the better. I know a student/athlete who has lived in District A's district but went to high school 11 miles up the road at district B. The family this year has decided to send the kid to district A the home district but going to provide their tax documentation etc claiming that the drive everyday they can't afford anymore, I think one of the parents might have had a paycut.

Anderson's came from Wyoming. The oldest one Ryan wasn't on the state championship team I don't believe I could be mistaken. Jeremy, the youngest one started playing varsity in 8th grade I do know that at Warren Central cause him and Richie Farmer I believe are the only two players to score in five state tournaments, maybe even play in five state tournaments. Mason County in 2008 had the Setty brothers who are from Peebles, OH came to Mason County when Trevor was a freshman I believe. Ethan King drove to Mason from a neighboring county everyday but did it for all four years as well so that is probably not a transfer. Ricardo Johnson for Holmes came in from Cincinnati.

Don't know if name has been mentioned yet but Bryan Wallace to Montgomery County this year, without him they might not make Sweet16 and for sure don't make the final 4 of the state.

Hickey was at Hopkinsville in Middle School then went to Clarksville, TN as a Freshman before coming to Christian County in High School. Carlos Hurt was 2001. Anthony Grundy to Warren Central from Louisville back in 96-97 was a big transfer. That impacted Josh Carrier transfer from Warren East where he started as an 8th grader to Bowling Green for high school after his dad decided not to coach Warren East anymore after all the trouble over Grundy.

If no 6th, 7th, 4th, or 2nd region teams are present then that is 25% of your competition absent, and teams out of those four regions always have a chance to win it.

Who ended up getting the Western Hills head coaching position.

He has been rumored to be going to Trinity, Perry County Central, Knott County Central and Jackson County. He went to Jackson cause his dad is helping Coach Parrett and there is a previous relationship with Coach Parrett.

Collier transferred to Jackson County & his dad is helping coach there at Jackson County. There is a connection between Collier and Jackson County coach Greg parrett when he was at North Laurel. I beleive that Collier lives iin London and drove to Southwestern the 1st two years of high school now he is at Jackson County. I might be wrong that he lives in London but am 99.9% sure he does but he enrolled at Southwestern before ever attending high school anywhere so he was able to play and not live there.

If you count their 7th grade to be 8th graders in Logan Dykes & Danny Butt then you probably have four division 1 prospects on their team. The one that plays for Manimal played against Southwestern, played for South Warren, Bryan Cummings.

Jalen Cooper is also the one that broke the news of Jaysean Paige coming to Kentucky and the one that broke the news of Spurlock coming to Perry during the middle of the school year before he had officially accepted the position and anyone had heard his name. Cooper obvioulsy has a connection in Perry County somewhere.

Collier hasn't been mentioned to PCC though,just Jackson County

Isaiah Collier transferred from Southwestern but he has been with Jackson County this summer. Maybe he is the one that will end up elsewhere.

My mistake on barren County, I thought they started five seniors, it was four. I guess that one of them didnt start later in the year, when I seen them early they started Simmons, Poore, Bush & Bunnell, I assume Bunnell was the one that didn't start later in the year. Losing Jacoby Poore and Clay Simmons will be a tall task to replace for Barren County. Coach Cunningham will keep them in most games though and is a great coach.

I don't understand the Barren County prediction. They lost five starters off of last years team. It will be an upset if Barren County or Glasgow either make the regional tournament. Monroe County & Allen County are the two favorites in the 15th.

I dis-agree with this statement. I don't know Bowling Green personally, but Warren Central has very good coaching. Coach Unseld is a very good coach, has been to back 2 back regional championships and won 1 in two years at the helm. I have seen them practice numerous occasions, he is tough on them but very detailed to skill development and gets the most out of his players. I agree Warren Central & Bowling Green are the top two, there isn't a 3. Warren East lost Brandon Walker to a broken hand with a week left in the season, had he been healthy last year it would have been interesting to see how it played out considering they were the #1 seed in the district and beat Central both times they played last year. Walker will be back this year but East does lose some key seniors and also a sophomore has a scholarship offer from Urban Meyer at Ohio State and may not play basketball which will hurt. I think Monroe County is the best team outside of Warren County this year, Clinton County not far behind as they have the best player outside of Warren County in junior point guard Keifer Dalton. I believe Dalton plays with the Travelers 16u team this summer, was with magic but believe he switched.

1st Region Favorite - Calloway County - Return all 5 starters off region runner up team. In the Mix - Graves County, Paducah Tilghman, Marshall County and possibly the new school, McCracken County. 2nd Region Favorite - Henderson County - won the Eddie Ford Spring Classic with a school team, lost to Hopkinsville by 1 in the region last year. In the Mix - Hopkinsville, one of these two will win it and if the two 6'9 surprises are rumored to be true Hopkinsville is #1. Caldwell County gets Elijah Sindelar back out who averaged 19.6 as a freshman, didnt play as a sophomore will be a junior this year, they will make some noise but not a chance at region. 3rd Region Favorite- Apollo (Up for grabs though, just my opinion) In the Mix - Owensboro, Muhlenburg (if Jordan Terry is back in Muhlenburg from Atlanta, move them to #1), Butler County, Ohio County, Breckinridge County 4th Region Favorite - Warren Central (Good enough to win the state championship with the right draw) In the Mix - Bowling Green, Warren East, Monroe County

I agree, fivestarhoops is by far the most recognizable service going, I have been following their rankings for this being the 3rd season but their rankings have been around much longer than that. DunkDog also has good rankings, but they have released any recently and their archives aren't available but back in April they had Hoop Dreams 15u ranked I want to say 18th, they had Derby State 24th in the 14u. AAU only ranks teams that play AAU i believe I might be wrong, Hoop Dreams isn't doing AAU this year nationals correct? We have the #74 overall seed at nationals, I would guess by the time some teams dont go we will have a 3 seed in our pool, hopefully Derby State can duplicate the run that Hoop Dreams had at 14u nationals last year. Manimal has played at the Knoxvegas tournament, I believe they made the final 4 there. They played in Louisville at a pretty big tournament and beat Mac Irvin Fire, they got 2nd in the silver bracket there last weekend of April. I think they also won a smaller tournament in Lexington and then 2nd in the AAU state. They had their own tournament at St. Catherines and played up I believe and got 2nd in it. I might be missing a tournament but I don't believe that I am for them this spring. I dont know their exact july schedule originally was going to go to nationals but have heard they are going out west instead, I believe they are also going to the Blue Chip Camp as a team 23-27 of June.

Also I would like to know how some ranking services over look certain teams. Indihoops.com their rankings are here. Rankings | Indivisible Hoops Just updated today, they don't have hoop dreams listed in the top 38 but have moved Southern Kings from unranked to #24 which Hoop Dreams destroyed in Atlanta and also I know Texas Pro was in the 15u division in Atlanta and Hoop Dreams still won the tournament, they are #15. Louisville Magic are mentioned in the others at #35

Heck of an accomplishment and well deserved, Hoop Dreams has improved all year and grabbed that key championship to end the spring, hopefully their ranking will rise as the year goes on in July. It is about time, long over due that one of these shoe companies come in and give Mike Scott and Hoop Dreams some sort of deal. Derby State, those rankings are pretty accurate there. I would have loved to crack the top 15, but we have 4 runner up finshes, one final 8 and one final 4 along with state championship in our 7 tournaments, have to finish the tournaments better. However, Indy Hoosiers, they aren't ranked in the top 10, they are the #1 team in my opinion 14u, they have all the pieces, the only team that has been bigger and physically more dominant all year. DC Assault beat us 1 and we didn't have our PG, Jamil Wilson at that time which was a big missing piece against them. Indy Hoosiers are a lot better than DC Assault taking nothing from DC Assault cause they are a top 2-5 team as well but in my opinion, Indy Hoosiers are #1, and there is a gap to #2 right now, but we will all find out once nationals arrive.

Williams & Goodin were the two most dominant for Hoop Dreams which they usually are cause they touch the ball the most but Dow played very well and played his role as well as Hager. Those four were the standouts but again their whole team played well this weekend I would say they are sad to see the month break coming up because they are clicking on all cylinders right now and would be a tough out for anyone in any tournament. Was a tough loss, Derby State had a 4 point lead with 0:45 seconds to play but didn't put the game away. When you don't put games away you allow crazy things to happen at the end and that is what happened. Team Heat made the plays they needed to stay alive and allow themselves to be one point better on that day.

Sorry, I never got a chance to get to their gym to see them play just followed their scores.

He played this weekend for Under Armour Carolina Wolves 16u team. Look for him to stay with an Under Armour team the rest of his career and South Carolina under Frank martin is also under armour
