  1. Thank you LB or the updates....greatly appreciated! :thumb:
  2. Spoke to a Dixie Dad this morning who shared the following: * Lloyd showed up for a brawl, Dixie showed up for practice * Lloyd was well coached and exposed Dixie's weaknesses * No adjustments made by Dixie in the 3rd after being down just 2 Meyer scored 14, Bradfield 10 Dixie will have to play darn near perfect basketball to beat either Cooper or Covcath at this time. And based on last nights performance, they have a lot of work to do! Again congrats to the Juggs on the district championship!!!
  3. Congrats to Lloyd on the W...not a good sign for the Colonels heading into the region!
  4. Solid group of athletes, congratulations to all of them and continued success!
  5. Congrats to Drew...looking forward to seeing where he ends up after his senior year, as well as, watching him pitch this spring! Continued success to him.
  6. You may see big things out of Dixie Heights' RB Brandon Barker in the Colonels run happy offense... He'll have a solid and senior laden o-line to run behind this season! :thumb:
  7. Well he won another Championship at 170 yesterday. The real upside to this young man is how he handles himself off the mat. Way to be humble, exercise integrity, and work your your hind off to achieve your goals! Samcro hit the nail on the head. Not only does he represent his family and school well. You make NKY look good as well and many of us are very proud of you. Congratulations Casey Cornett and thank you!!! :thumb:
  8. Dixie Heights' Kairus Washington is in the finals as well. Just read on fb that Casey Cornett won the 170 class. WTG Casey! :thumb:
  9. Congrats to the Colonels on the W and setting a new regular season record for wins with 25! Continued success and best wishes in the tournament. Dixie sends Chevalier off with a win
  10. Schedule Mayfield for ol time sake...
  11. Congrats to Jake. I've always been impressed with this young man whether he's in the gym or on the baseball diamond. He makes it look easy. Very smooth player who I look forward to seeing where he ends up playing at the next level! Continued success...:thumb:
  12. I can see a run happy team like Dixie Heights benefiting from incorporating a TE...but with the proliferation of the spread it isn't necessary!
  13. Is the D that good...or are the shots not dropping?
  14. Thank you @Stretch1out for the correction...khsaa web site had it listed at 7:30. Go Colonels!!!
  15. Here's a few pics from Giante Hicks and Cameron Barretts National Signing Day gathering over at Dixie Heights... Congratulations to Dixie Heights... - Dixie Heights Colonels Football | Facebook If you got pics folks please share them! Again congrats to all who are fortunate and blessed enough to continue to play in college...:thumb:
  16. Congratulations to Matt, his family, and the Brossart program. Morehead St is the only university in the Pioneer Football League that isn't private. Schools such as Dayton and Butler provide endowment $$$ to their recruits ( mind you, not scholarships but a financial package based on merit ). Their tuition, room and board is also very high ( approx $53k a year range ). Moreheads advantage for in state student-athletes with good grades and high ACTs is the academic merit in the form of pell grants and loans ( subsidized or not ). MSU is very affordable....EKU and MSU have the lowest tuition, room/board in the state of Kentucky ( approx $20k a year ). A straight A student with a 28 ACT can see MSU cost cut in half after FAFSFA considerations. Take that same student to a UD or Butler and they will pay $30k plus a year. Butler and UD are great schools. I don't think they are 3 X the cost of tuition at MSU great! Again, congrats to Matt and continued success at MSU...:thumb: PS...here's a good link reflecting the purpose of the NLI: About the National Letter of Intent (NLI)
  17. The Colonels improve to 22-3 on the season and host Lockland ( Cincy ) this evening 7:30 tip off!
  18. Nice job CWB...thank you for your time and effort in the 2017 recruiting class threads. :thumb:
  19. A simple message to those fortunate enough to continue playing the game at the next level! Show gratitude towards your family, friends, coaches, mentors, and football brothers tomorrow. They shaped and contributed toward you all growing into the young men you've become. And provided the support necessary to continue playing the game you love! Congratulations and best wishes to all of you. God bless, make a difference and continue to grow! :thumb: - A Football Father
  20. To add there are local and regional combines. Based on performance the decision makers with Blue-Gray extend invites to the National games. Games were held in Jacksonville Jaguar Stadium, as well as, Dallas Cowboy Stadium. These invites do come with a price tag ( $5500 + ) and unfortunately schedule conflicts with Christmas break. Blue-Gray does encourage player sponsorship so contingent upon how well connected or how well off financially a player may be does influence a decision to play in the National venues. Both Giante Hicks and Cameron Barrett of Dixie Heights were invited to play in the National All-American games: Giante in Jacksonville and Cameron in Dallas. Not sure how they decide upon placement. Both chose not to participate due to schedule conflicts with holiday plans with family, as well as, raising funds to finance the experience before Christmas! Hard time of the year to ask folks for $$$. Congrats to those in the bluegrass who did attend and enjoyed the experience. :thumb:
  21. Nothing like balancing all those we are the champions threads and how are we going to do it again...with the current low! Hang in there caketown fans! I'm surprised there haven't been more woe is us threads...
  22. Hats off and a big :thumb: to SK for hosting the game within a game. From a friend who attended and I quote," two teams from the Special Olympics played a 12 min game. The house was packed and these amazing teams had the entire gym on their feet. What an amazing game it was!" Well done and thank you for making this a very memorable evening for many...
  23. I caught the 1st half of this game and if the Bears could have hit some open shots this game would have been tied at the half. Sketchy, inconsistent calls both ways. You'd see a ticky tack reach called and then see blatant fouls not called. It seemed like a half of make up calls! I was anticipating a big Scott win and am happy to hear the Polar Bears kept it close. Once those outside shots fall...look out PB opponents!
