Agreed, I thought they would lose this game more so than LCA. Every team has bad games, and that LCA was definitely a bad game for UHA.

Right now it doesn't look like anyone can beat them, however teams get better throughout a season, and some plateau or even decline. They are the best team in the state by a wide margin right now.

While things at the top of Region 2 haven’t changed a whole lot, there was quite a bit of activity in the middle and lower rankings of the region. Caldwell County is looking stronger as the season moves on and Dawson Springs, Livingston Central, and Lyon County have been so inconsistent. Here are the rankings for Week 3. 1. University Heights Academy – Coach Grant Shouse BGP#3 2018-19 record: 7-0 Week’s Record: 3-0 The Blazers had to work very hard to stay unbeaten this past week. It was the toughest scheduled week they have had this year, and Tandy shined once again leading his team to victory against Hopkinsville 62-56, Madisonville 80-79, and Evansville Reitz 86-80. Tandy had 33 against Hoptown, 37 against Madisonville, and 44 against Evansville. McGowan is a great compliment to Tandy and he is averaging 17 ppg himself this season. UHA will have another tough week of games at the King of the Bluegrass Tournament, especially if they keep winning. They open play in the most exciting first round match with BGP#7 Lexington Christian. If they win that they most likely will play BGP#2 Trinity. We will get to see if the Heights deserves their BGP#3 ranking by next weeks review. 2. Madisonville North Hopkins – Coach Matt Beshear 2018-19 record: 4-2 Week’s Record: 1-1 Madisonville played a heck of a game against University Heights. They took the loss by one point, but they looked very good in the game. Ksuan Casey led the Maroons with 25 points and 25 rebounds..yes you read that right, 25 points and 25 rebounds. Cade Cunningham had 17 pts, Kenny White 16, and JD Gilbert 15. Great balanced scoring that will cause problems for teams. Free Throw shooting hurt the Maroons this game going 16-30 (53.3%). Just making two of those would have been huge. Madisonville will also play in the King of the Bluegrass tournament. They open play against Fairdale. It a chance to showcase they are a top 20 team in the state. 3. Hopkinsville – Coach Larry Miller 2018-19 record: 5-2 Week’s Record: 1-1 Hopkinsville continues to improve their play. The defense looks to be coming around, but the offense still needs help, especially with the loss of Watts. The Tigers took UHA down to the wire, and had the lead much of the game before falling in the 4th quarter. Free Throw shooting is an issue as the Tigers only shot 40% from the line, you can’t win games shooting like that. Nicholas led Hopkinsville with 16 points. They were able to take out some frustration on Hopkins Central has they won by 37 points. Next up for the Tigers is the Owensboro Invitational Tournament. They have a good chance of winning all 3 games if they play up to their talent level. 4. Caldwell County – Coach Daniel Kukahiko 2018-19 record: 4-2 Week’s Record: 1-0 The Tigers only had one game this week, but it was a big upset. Caldwell hosted Paducah Tilghman and kept it close down to the wire before pulling away and defeating the Tornados. Derrin Boyd was clutch going 9 for his last 9 and led the Tigers with 28 points, including 15 in the final quarter. Tripp Branch added 18 points. Caldwell will look to continue their win streak this week as they play Carlisle County, Logan County, Franklin-Simpson, and Butler County. They can win all four games. 5. Christian County – Coach Kerry Stovall 2018-19 record: 3-3 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Colonels had their best week of the season so far winning two games, but still dropping one. They were able to defeat Henderson County 79-71 and Owensboro 75-66. Eric Brody led CCHS with 28 in the Owensboro win. He is averaging close to 22 ppg on the season. Madison Central reminded the Colonels that there is still a lot to improve on (72-48). Christian County will play in the Pop’s Chevy Classic over the weekend. 6. Webster County – Coach Jon Newton 2018-19 record: 6-2 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Trojans lost a close game to Lyon County 67-65, however they rebounded nicely against Calloway County (62-57) and McLean County (61-50). Douglas Malachi is leading Webster with 17.5 ppg this season, and Tyler Camplin had added 15.5 ppg. They will play Livingston Central and Franklin-Simpson and Logan County this week at the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic. 7. Henderson County – Coach Tyler Smithhart 2018-19 record: 5-1 Week’s Record: 1-1 Henderson County defeated Ohio County 67-59 while being led by Corey Stewart’s 23 points. It was the Colonels 5 straight win. They had that win streak snapped however by the other Colonel team in the region, Christian County, 79-71. Henderson ran into the best game Christian County has played all season. The game was close and at times sloppy, but entertaining. They play Crittenden County and then travel to the Warren East Holiday Classic to open with Bardstown. 8. Lyon County – Coach Jeff Embrey 2018-19 record: 6-4 Week’s Record: 3-1 The Lyons are starting to look impressive after a slow start to the year. They played 3 region games this week and won all 3. They defeated Union County, Webster County (OT), and Trigg County. This significantly moves them up in the rankings as they beat all 3 teams that were ranked above them. The only region loss the Lyons have this year is to Dawson Springs by one point last week. They have a very tough game against McCracken County before heading to the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic. 9. Hopkins County Central – Coach Lee James 2018-19 record: 2-3 Week’s Record: 0-2 Hopkins County played a really good game at Madisonville on Tuesday. Tylan Mann led the Storm with 23 points and 7 boards, however they came up short 79-68. Three days later they went to Hopkinsville and struggled against Hopkinsville’s size. They only managed to score 40 points while giving up 77. It was a tale of two different games. The Storm seemed to match up much better with Madisonville than they did with Hopkinsville. Rivalry games tend to bring out the best in both teams and it should be exciting to see how these team play each other in their future meetings. HCC has a busy schedule this week as they play 4 games. 10. Livingston Central – Coach Chris Green 2018-19 record: 5-5 Week’s Record: 1-2 The Cardinals have had the biggest up and down season so far in region 1. They are hard to judge. They lose 2 then win 2, then lose 2, and win 2. This week was the two loss week. Carlisle County and Dawson Springs both defeated LC, however they were able to pull out a win against Crittenden County. The Cardinals now only play one game over a two week period before the Murray Bank Tipoff Classic. 11. Union County – Coach Shane Smith 2018-19 record: 3-3 Week’s Record: 2-1 Union played three games this week, winning two of those and losing one. Union lost to an improving Lyon County by 16, while defeating Trinity Whitesville by 35 and Dawson Springs by 40. Kale Gaither is still getting his while averaging almost 26 ppg so far in the season. The Braves really need some pieces to compliment his scoring in order for them to make noise in the region. Right now it’s just a one dimensional team. They will play Hopkins County Central before heading to the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic. 12. Trigg County – Coach Payton Croft 2018-19 record: 4-4 Week’s Record: 1-2 Trigg County won a close game against Community Christian 47-40. They dropped their next two games 55-50 to Lyon County, and 79-54 to Warren East. They will play Hickman County next to open the KME Christmas Classic. 13. Fort Campbell – Coach Robbie Townsend 2018-19 record: 4-2 Week’s Record: 2-0 The Falcons defeated Dawson Springs and Christian Fellowship in their two wins this week. They next play in the Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament. 14. Dawson Springs – Coach Chad Burgett 2018-19 record: 4-4 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Panthers are another team that is so difficult to figure out. They defeat Lyon County and Livingston Central, two teams they shouldn’t have beat, but then lose by 15 to Ft. Campbell, a team they should have beat, and by 40 to Union County, a team that has no business beating them that bad. The Panthers play McLean County this week. 15. Crittenden County – Coach Denis Hodge 2018-19 record: 2-5 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Rockets finally found the win column as they defeated Christian Fellowship by 17 points. They were led by Gabe Mott who had 26. They also defeated Hardin County, IL by 2. Player of the Week Ksuan Casey, Madisonville-North Hopkins. Casey was huge against University Heights scoring 25 points and hauling down 25 rebounds. He is now averaging 15 ppg and 9 rpg on the season.

UHA vs LCA should be a great first round game. If UHA wins that puts BGP #2 vs #3 with Trinity.

I would love to see a UHA/Mayfield final. Would make us WKY guys proud.

Plus those teams are in the region. You see a lot of region 1 teams play region 2 teams as well. But once you get out of those regions it is more expensive to travel, and more time. It makes sense to fill some schools close to round out the schedule.

So we have a new Number One in Region One. McCracken County has proven they are currently the team to beat. They took over the number one spot after defeating former number one Mayfield. They are showing that Region 1 has some very good teams this year. Not a whole lot of movement happened other than the new number 1. Here are this week’s rankings. 1. McCracken County – Coach Burlin Brower 2018-19 record: 6-0 Week’s Record: 2-0 The Mustangs proved this week that they are worthy of being considered as a top 20 team in the state. They defeated BGP #9 Mayfield in a close game 66-65. They followed that up by defeating BGP #14 Bowling Green 64-60. Jackson Sivills was unstoppable in both games. He scored 28 with 14 rebounds versus Mayfield, and had another 30 points versus Bowling Green. He is now averaging almost 23 ppg and 8 rpg on the year. The Mustangs will play Ballard Memorial and Lyon County which should be easy wins, but they also play Marshall County which will be a little tougher test. 2. Mayfield – Coach Chris Guhy BGP #9 2018-19 record: 3-3 Week’s Record: 2-1 Mayfield had a really tough loss to McCracken County 66-65. They had a chance to win it at the end, but instead, the Cardinals were called for a foul on a rebound with 0.1 seconds left sending McCracken to the line to win the game. It is the only time they play this year before the playoffs. The loss was sandwiched in between to convincing wins over St. Mary and Carlisle County. Calloway County and the Paducah Tilghman Christian Tournament is up next for Mayfield. 3. Graves County – Coach Joshua Frick 2018-19 record: 7-1 Week’s Record: 2-0 The Eagles won both of their games this week. The first against Ballard Memorial 75-36, and the second, a convincing win against Paducah Tilghman. It is the first step in Graves showing they can compete with the top teams in Region 1. Jacob Savage has really stepped it up and is leading the Eagles with 17.4 ppg so far. Ryan Mathis has followed with 15 ppg and Naranjo with 12 ppg. Graves will be hosting the Eagle Holiday Classic this weekend. 4. Paducah Tilghman – Coach Roderick Thomas 2018-19 record: 4-3 Week’s Record: 1-2 Paducah Tilghman has had a tough time the last few games. They have dropped 3 of 4 and have some tough games on the horizon as well. The Tornadoes lost to Caldwell County and Graves County. These losses knocked them a few spots in the rankings and they find themselves looking up at what seems to be better teams. They have an important game against Murray before Valley and Mayfield again. 5. Murray – Coach Dior Curtis 2018-19 record: 2-4 Week’s Record: 1-0 Murray only had one game this week and they made it count defeating Marshall County 64-49 behind 20 points from Grant Whitaker, who is also leading the Tigers in scoring on the year (14.3 ppg). Don’t let the record fool you, Murray has had a tough schedule out of the gate and it will continue as they move forward. Paducah Tilghman, Valley, Mayfield, and Bowling Green are all on the horizon. Toughest schedule in Region 1 so far. 6. Marshall County – Terry Birdsong 2018-19 record: 4-4 Week’s Record: 1-2 Marshall County looked fantastic against Christian Brothers in Tennessee last week, but then played awful again Murray before heading to Washington DC where they are currently 1-1. Jonathan Stokes is leading the Marshalls with 17 ppg. No word on Harmon joining the team as of now. That would be a huge change and boost for MC. 7 Carlisle County – Coach Brian O’Neil 2018-19 record: 6-3 Week’s Record: 3-1 The Comets had 4 games this week. They defeated Livingston Central, Fulton City, and Lyon County. They were soundly defeated by Mayfield showing they are not quite up to the level of the top teams in the region. Tough game against Caldwell County up this week before heading to a game in Illinois. 8. Calloway County – Coach Brad Cleaver 2018-19 record: 2-5 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Lakers dropped their 5th game in a row losing to Webster County from region 2. However they snapped the losing streak to Hickman County. Chandler Steele led the Lakers with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Ki Franklin added 13 with Kade Mize with 12. They face an uphill battle versus Mayfield this week. 9. Fulton County – Coach Jamie Madding 2018-19 record: 2-3 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Pilots got their second win of the season 49-48 against a team in Illinois. They lost a tough one to Lake County in Tennessee. 10. St. Mary – Coach Greg Overstreet 2018-19 record: 3-4 Week’s Record: 0-2 St. Mary had a nice schedule at the beginning of the year and they showed they could play with many of those teams, however this week, they ran into 2 of the top teams in the region and the scoreboard showed they couldn’t keep up. They lost both game by 30+ points. . 11. Community Christian Paducah – Coach Daniel Durrett 2018-19 record: 2-5 Week’s Record: 1-2 The Warriors got their second win of the season against Portland Christian. They kept the game close against Trigg County and Pope County, IL, but they couldn’t quite get the win. They are in almost every game and should win many more games this win. 12. Hickman County – Coach Wynn Harris 2018-19 record: 3-5 Week’s Record: 2-1 Hickman had their best week of the year defeating Christian Fellowship and Ballard Memorial. They did take a loss to Calloway County. A tough game against Community Christian is up next. 13. Ballard Memorial – Coach Marla Cooper 2018-19 record: 2-5 Week’s Record: 0-2 The Bombers lost to Hickman County in a close one and Graves County in a blowout. McCracken is up next. 14. Fulton City – Coach Jon Dillard 2018-19 record: 2-5 Week’s Record: 1-1 Fulton City defeated Clarksburg TN, but dropped a game to Carlisle County. They will play Bradford, TN Lyon County, and Butler County this week. Player of the Week Jackson Sivills, McCracken County. Sivills led McCracken to 2 big wins this week versus Mayfield and Bowling Green averaging 29 points in those two games.

McCracken takes down #9 and #14 this week and stays undefeated. I believe that should propel them into the BGP top 20

That first two loss was puzzling, especially the way they've been playing. I was surprised at the least, and pushed them down the rankings because of it. I am not sure if they were missing players or just completely out of sync. I thought the Union game was a toss up at the time.

I can't say, but Derrin Boyd has been a stud for Caldwell. Right now he is no doubt the second best player behind Tandy in the district...that says a lot. They are playing with confidence, however PT and Muhlenberg are the only teams they have played that I would considered quality teams. Logan County is the only other team they play until Madisonville (Jan 8). Should be an interesting game. I believe Caldwell has taken over the 4th spot in the region, but there is still a lot of bball to be played this year.

I will say this. In previous years, UHA would have folded in a game like this. This shows that the maturity level of the team as a whole has improved and will help them moving forward. Madisonville proved they are no slouch of a team and I look forward to seeing them more this season.

That is a bit of a shocker to me, although Caldwell has been playing very well as of late.

I don't feel this game will be as close as the Hopkinsville game. UHA by double digits.

Remember last year Mayfield won the Dec game 52-50, but McCracken won the Region tournament game. Things could very well turn out the same this year, just with the teams switched.

Right now I only see 2 or 3 teams being able to win the Sweet 16. But things will change as the season moves on. These two teams are very good.

Hopkinsville led most of the game. UHA came back in the 4th. Great game.

McCracken hasn't been tested yet and Mayfield has. I believe Mayfield will win this game in a close one, similar to last year's early game so I wouldn't be surprised if McCracken wins either. Should be a really good game.

Mayfield proved they deserved the No. 1 ranking for now, but they have to continue to play at a high level to do so as Tilghman, McCracken, Marshall, and Graves all are playing well and can make a run to the top. Meanwhile Community Christian and St. Mary are playing surprisingly well and have moved out of the bottom of the rankings. The big news is that Zion Harmon maybe close to playing for the Marshals, we will see, in the meantime here are the rankings for week 2. 1. Mayfield – Coach Chris Guhy BGP #9 2018-19 record: 1-2 Week’s Record: 1-2 Mayfield silenced any Region 1 critics by defeating Paducah Tilghman in their season opener. However, they travelled to Memphis and played two nationally ranked teams and got destroyed. They were without two starters in those losses, but they did not look good. Another big game awaits the Cardinals this week against McCracken County. We will see if they have recovered from the drubbing they received in Tennessee. 2. Paducah Tilghman – Coach Roderick Thomas 2018-19 record: 3-1 Week’s Record: 0-1 Paducah Tilghman won their first 3 games in hoping it would be good preparation for Region 1 favorite, Mayfield. However, things didn’t turn out like they wanted as they were defeated 62-56. They can’t dwell long on the loss as Graves County awaits them this week, and could mean a shake up in the rankings. 3. Graves County – Coach Joshua Frick 2018-19 record: 5-1 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Eagles had a tough game against Murray this past week squeaking out a win by 2 points. They played Calloway County and defeated them solidly before heading to Memphis to play Briarcrest Christian. It wasn’t a pretty game as Graves lost by almost 30 points. This week, there is a tough game at home against Paducah Tilghman. 4. McCracken County – Coach Burlin Brower 2018-19 record: 4-0 Week’s Record: 2-0 The Mustangs continue their hot start by defeating Calloway County and Cairo, IL. The Mustangs have the chance to show they are for real. They play two top 20 BGP teams at home, Mayfield and Bowling Green. It can be a huge successful week, or a good learning experience. Maybe a bit of both. 5. Marshall County – Terry Birdsong 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 2-0 Marshall County rebounded nicely this week by defeating Carlisle County and Christian Brothers from Tennessee. They will play Murray this week before heading to Washington DC to play in the National Monument Hoop Fest. BTW...Zion Harmon is now on Marshall County roster, but until he sees the court, the Marshals will remain here in the rankings. 6. Murray – Coach Dior Curtis 2018-19 record: 1-4 Week’s Record: 0-2 Murray has played much better than their record shows. They were a last second shot from defeated Graves County this week before having a subpar showing against Christian Brothers in Memphis. The Tigers can make a big statement by defeating Marshall County this week in the only opponent they face. 7 Carlisle County – Coach Brian O’Neil 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Comets defeated Hickman County 82-55 and CCA 53-30 after losing to Marshall County 56-68. Reese Anderson leads Carlisle in scoring with 15.6 ppg. 8. Calloway County – Coach Brad Cleaver 2018-19 record: 1-4 Week’s Record: 0-3 The Lakers had a very tough week after winning their first game of the season. Calloway faced some tough teams in McCracken Co, Graves Co, and Hopkins County Central. This week gives some relief, but the games will still be tough against Webster Co and Hickman Co. 9. Fulton County – Coach Jamie Madding 2018-19 record: 1-2 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Pilots got their first win of the season 78-37 versus Christian Fellowship. They will not play a team from Kentucky until Dec 27, a rematch with CF. 10. St. Mary – Coach Greg Overstreet 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 1-1 St. Mary looked pretty good so far this year. With the exception of the first game, the Vikings have played well and they have surprised a lot of people. We will really see what they are made out of as they play the top two teams in the region this week as a visiting team. If they can keep it close, it will say a lot. 11. Community Christian Paducah – Coach Daniel Durrett 2018-19 record: 1-3 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Warriors are playing competition much closer this season, and got a surprise win at home versus Ballard Memorial. So far, 2 of their losses have come by a total of 6 points. There could be many wins on the horizon. 12. Ballard Memorial – Coach Marla Cooper 2018-19 record: 2-3 Week’s Record: 1-2 The Bombers defeated Christian Fellowship, but fell to St. Mary and Community Christian. They have tough games against Graves County and McCracken County upcoming. 13. Hickman County – Coach Wynn Harris 2018-19 record: 1-4 Week’s Record: 1-1 Hickman has had a rough go of it so far this season. They did get their first win against a team from Gleason, TN, however every Kentucky team they have faces this season has defeated them soundly. They will try and change that when they play Ballard Memorial and Christian Fellowship. 14. Fulton City – Coach Jon Dillard 2018-19 record: 1-4 Week’s Record: 0-2 Fulton dropped 2 games this week to Tennessee teams. They were not a threat in either game. They play Carlisle County this week. Player of the Week Reese Anderson, Carlisle County. Anderson scored 24 points, including 4 treys, en route to defeating Hickman County. He is now averaging 15.6 ppg on the season.

The number two and three teams will have a shot at staking their claim at the top position as they play UHA this week. 1. University Heights Academy – Coach Grant Shouse BGP#3 2018-19 record: 4-0 Week’s Record: 1-0 The Blazers didn’t have much competition this week. They defeated Todd County Central 110 – 66. Drew McGowan led UHA with 24 points and Tandy added 23 with Crump pouring in 20. The next week should be very interesting for the Blazers. They will play the #2 and #3 teams in the region. They will go to Hopkinsville while having Madisonville at home. 2. Madisonville North Hopkins – Coach Matt Beshear 2018-19 record: 3-1 Week’s Record: 1-0 Madisonville only played one game this week as well. They went to Dawson Springs and won by 40. They only have one game upcoming this week, but its against UHA and the battle for the top spot in the region. We will get a good sense of just how good this Marroons team is. 3. Hopkinsville – Coach Larry Miller 2018-19 record: 4-1 Week’s Record: 2-0 Hopkinsville looks like things are starting to come together, although they still have lots of question marks. This week they defeated rival Christian County 79-64 in a convincing win. They also defeated Bardstown in the Tip-off Classic. One of the big question marks will be what the Tigers will do now that Alijah Watts has left the team. He was one of their best scoring weapons. Their biggest test of the year will be against the other rival, University Heights. They could make a big statement on Dec 11. 4. Christian County – Coach Kerry Stovall 2018-19 record: 1-2 Week’s Record: 1-1 The Colonels did not look like the team we have seen in past year thru their first two games. The talent level isn’t quite where it used to be. They took a difficult loss to Hopkinsville in a year with both teams are down. They turned around however and defeated Doss 59-56. Christian County is hoping this will boost them as they play at Henderson County and at a very good Madison Central team. 5. Webster County – Coach Jon Newton 2018-19 record: 4-1 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Trojans were one of the more active teams in Region 2 this week with 3 games. They won 2 games. Both were handy wins over Apollo and Fort Campbell. In between those two wins, Webster Co fell to Caldwell County. Douglas Malachi has been leading the charge averaging 20 ppg. 6. Hopkins County Central – Coach Lee James 2018-19 record: 2-1 Week’s Record: 1-0 Hopkins County won their only game this week against Calloway County from Region 1. Tyler Mann led storm with 24 points. They will play Madisonville and Hopkinsville this week. Both will be very tough games. 7. Henderson County – Coach Tyler Smithhart 2018-19 record: 4-0 Week’s Record: 2-0 Henderson County continues to show promise by winning two more games this week and remaining undefeated on the year, only one other team in the region remains undefeated. The Colonels won both their games against Evansville teams. Corey Stewart led Henderson in both games, 24 and 12 respectively. 8. Livingston Central – Coach Chris Green 2018-19 record: 4-3 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Cardinals have already played seven games this season. This week they defeated Trigg County and St. Mary, while taking a loss to Lyon County. Three more games on schedule for this week in Carlisle County, Webster County, and Crittenden County 9. Union County – Coach Shane Smith 2018-19 record: 1-2 Week’s Record: 1-2 Union didn’t play this week. They will play Lyon County, Trinity (Whitesville) and Dawson Springs this week. 10. Caldwell County – Coach Daniel Kukahiko 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 3-0 The Tigers started this season with two losses. It didn’t look like Caldwell was the team many thought they would be. But things changed this week as they won all three of their games. They were in control against Crittenden County and Webster County, and then squeaked out an overtime win against Muhlenberg County. They have a tough matchup versus Paducah Tilghman this week. 11. Trigg County – Coach Payton Croft 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 2-1 Trigg County had some very entertaining games this week as they defeated Crittenden County and Fort Campbell both by 12 points. They ended up on the losing side of a very close game versus Livingston Central 65-67. 12. Lyon County – Coach Jeff Embrey 2018-19 record: 3-3 Week’s Record: 2-1 After losing 2 games and only winning one last week, the Lyons turned things around to do the opposite this week. Dawson Springs – Coach Chad Burgett 2018-19 record: 3-2 Week’s Record: 2-1 The Panthers got a spanking at home versus Madisonville, but they turned that around and pulled off the biggest upset of the week in Region 2 by defeating Lyon County 84-83. They were led by Skyler Clark with 28 and Landon Pace with 27. They will try and keep things going against Livingston Central and Ft Campbell this week. Not sure how these games got scheduled, but Mayfield played Whitehaven, TN (Ranked #26 in US) and got pummeled. They also played Briarcrest Christian and got beat handily. Just wondering why Mayfield would play these teams, especially so early in the year. Not sure how much it helps. Briarcrest has played 3 Kentucky teams, Graves County, Mayfield, and Lexington Catholic, and has handily defeated all 3.

If Mayfield improved any over last year, which they should, they will be a top 10 team in the state. They didn't lose anybody and ended last year in the top 15. Their schedule is definitely weak for a top team....however Tilghman, McCracken, and Graves are all very good teams.

Yea I struggled with whether I should drop Caldwell under Lyon. Caldwell definitely has the talent to be better than what they are, and Lyon played a great game against them. It's the first week, it will all pan out by season's end.
