Not sure how these games got scheduled, but Mayfield played Whitehaven, TN (Ranked #26 in US) and got pummeled. They also played Briarcrest Christian and got beat handily. Just wondering why Mayfield would play these teams, especially so early in the year. Not sure how much it helps.

 

Briarcrest has played 3 Kentucky teams, Graves County, Mayfield, and Lexington Catholic, and has handily defeated all 3.

That’s interesting. I like seeing teams from Kentucky play against good out of state teams but I don’t think getting blown out is very beneficial.

Correct. They are currently without 2 starters. They didn't even make the trip. They played guys that usually never see the court.

 

Still no excuse for the scores. Both games were ridiculously bad. No defense being played. Whitehaven did have a 7 footer. Hopefully Mayfield gets healthy soon and puts this horrendous weekend behind them.

Daniel had a sling on his arm the night or the Tilghman game so I am guessing he suffered his injury in the state championship football game. But Trey Matthews played in the Tilghman game so I don't know what is going on with him.

McCracken looks really good guys, I’m guessing they will be hard to beat and are right there with Mayfield early on.

Mayfield is always fighting off slow starts anyway. Not sure I see the value in casting any doubt on the minds of the team by getting thrashed early.

I agree. McCracken will be a tough out at the end of the year.
