Talked with someone this weekend that is involved down at Dayton. Threw these names out for this one... Menifee, Mike Walls (former Silver Grove HC and current Scott assistant, Dayton grad), current JV coach Nathan Dilts, current freshman coach Bill Rogg, former assistant coach Darrell Patton, and Highlands JV coach Steve Hunt (who's wife works in the system apparently.)

How many NKAC division III games did you see this year? Talent level there overall is down. They were probably pretty consistent 2nd choice for conference behind Ludlow. Had a 1,000 point scorer and everyone returning from the previous season. Ask anyone in that conference and I think they'll tell you that they were better than 8 wins total.

I can tell you that the opinions on Coach Aldridge in Silver Grove are mixed. The plus is he has a defined system. The negative is that he doesn't adjust it to his peronnel much (much like a college coach). Many people consider them to have underachieved in DIII this year for thier talent level. This could just be me but I never have seen anyone but Snapp do much for Newport since he's been there. Could be because he's so animated himself...

How tall are McDonald and Schulte?

I don't know what this has to do with the thread but find it pretty comical...:laugh: Pretty much every division two team can probably say the same. That's why they're in division two.

This is what I've always heard. How tall would you say he really is?

I'm just spitballing here, but I saw Stuhr in the regional against guys his size shoot from two feet and not hit the rim. I saw he had a few big games and then saw games that he had 4 points. Not saying he is incapable or that he is a bad kid. But I would disagree with the statment of he being a 'force.' I'm not convinced there weren't more issues out there than just "Coach Mullins didn't know how to utilize his players." Just my opinion.

Has Hicks committed anywhere? Where are his offers?

For me this was the notable omission, because, if you're creating a team that you'd like to put out on the court, it's tough to not include a 6'10" guy with his skill set... With that said, it's tough to find a name on that list to take off...

Not to beat a dead horse, or compare the two any further, but after watching this, you really see there were at least two time where he really made Dominique Hawkins look bad on D.

I'm starting to feel like any aspiring head coach worth his salt is applying to each of these open positions.... A lot of the same names being thrown around.

What I'm basically saying is is that those names that were thrown out of kids who coulda helped I remember them all playing and contributing as young'ns. Why did they stop?

What I don't understand about the program is that Ft. Thomas always seems to have solid youth and middle school programs. I realize this isn't always a great indicator of success but... where do some of those kids go?

If this was true, they would've had to have practiced there the afternoon following the draw, which also happened to be the day after Ruthsatz hit the miracle against them in district. This could well have happened, but count me in the corner of people not buying it...

Seems like a solid position waiting for someone there...

Why did the coach at Paris leave? Tough year on the Varsity level but didn't they just win the 10th region freshman championship?

Heard a rumor yesterday that former Bellevue coach Bo Menifee is in the mix for the Dayton job. Among a half dozen or so interested.

I've heard Flynn's resignation rumored for awhile and he to be the favorite among the assistants.

Thats the one I heard... Maybe it's just me but WOW... I'm pretty surprised by that...

But according to the eye test...

Just expressing my opinion. I've been for the last 15 years. I like the usual format. I also like the programs that they did away with. And no, I'm not from the 'older generation.' Call me old fashioned if you wish.

I read somewhere this weekend that he has DI offers from SEC schools. Truth?

Personally haven't heard of the kid but if he can play he has a shot at PT next season. They lost a ton.
