Let us not forget 2010: Newport lost to Newport Central Catholic 63-38 in The 36th District Final. Beat Ryle 62-46 in 9th Region Beat CovCath 59-48 in 9th Region Semis Beat Holmes 60-34 in 9th Region Final (Holmes had beat them by 18 and by 10 that year)

I think I remember the 16th doing the 9th region a few years ago (unless it was the 15th) and a women ref was the best of the them. No idea if she still does games.

First, Dayton's 6 Seniors (1 injured) played hard as they have all season and maybe the ball did not bounce their way, but they had a nice run at Dayton and won some games along the way. They will be missed next year. NCC got a nice balanced scoring game. Still don't know if they have found the best rotation yet but it is the deepest team they had in years. Guess we will see about how good they turn out.

That does not really make sense. The vote had nothing to do with players on D2 and D3 teams in NKY.

Just to be clear I believe we are talking about NKAC Division 1 coaches Conference team which is why only coaches from the schools mentioned voted. The other NKY schools are Division 2 (like NCC, St. Henry etc) and Division 3 (like Villa, Ludlow etc). In theory coaches are then voting for players they have competed against in Conference play.

Might want to update the Popcorn machine status at Halftime.

Newport obviously has to limit the Big Fella on Highlands inside or it could be a long night. Highlands has to maintain contact with Newport and not get behind and start throwing up 3 balls. Neither has the depth to deal with foul trouble so they will have to avoid that. Going to be kind of a strange atmosphere being at Dayton and the second game of the night. The crowd will be a mix of fans from 4 schools.

He must be banking on the CovCath or Madison Central job being open next year.

Brilliant. Their 1A roster is larger than most 1A to 4A teams so no concern there. CovCath and SK would appear to be the most difficult games. They have always played CovCath and won some and they have played SK in the past also. Corbin and Somerset are teams they certainly can and probably will beat next year. Quick name the last time they lost to Holy Cross or Lloyd and it will not be next year either. The NCC game, which I assume will close out the season, is just what BW needs after all the District blowouts and before the cushy first and second round playoff games.

Dayton is hosting. Nice floor. Good viewing from the stands. Parking is good. Will undoubtedly the Northern-most games played in the state of KY. Ohio is just about a Par 5 away.

Did the Big Fella play for the Birds?

Tigers and Greendevils will be fun. Have to give the edge to Dayton. Highlands and Newport for the right to advance to the Final should be a dandy also.

I would seed every District based on games played. I would prefer just one game against other District foes but if they vote to play two I would be okay with it. However I would deem that every District winner gets the first game of the Regional on their Home floor. After that the four winners go to wherever the Region is hosted.

Bellevue vs Dayton District game is going to be a war. And I believe Districts are at Dayton and that makes it even more special.
