Congratulations to The Cross for rather handily taking care of business against a formidable Birds team that seems to be watching their mid-season peak through the rearview mirror, while the Tribe is looking fined tuned and poised to move forward at the time of the season that matters most.

They could easily have packed it in when their record didn't follow their fight, but they've shown a lot of character in sticking with it and grinding it out, and now the dividends are paying off.

Good luck to both teams moving forward in their respective district games that should prove to be nothing less than titanic battles, and no doubt the two district games in the 9th that have the biggest regional tourney implications.

Who won the JV game?

Birds.

Birds.

Nice

Another win for the Indians! Not as pretty of a game for them as Saturday night but a win none the less. More of the spread out scoring and more bodies scoring period. Up next Newport wed night.

Birds.

Who moved up to JV from the frosh squad?

First time I have seen Highlands this year and I came away very impressed with the big kid Kyle Finfrock. It was fun watching him and Barnes battle for good position down low all night. There aren't too many kids in the region, besides Barnes, (and maybe Jake Walter) that Finfrock would have to work harder for position or to get the ball in a good position to score. Nothing came easy for him last night and still got 18 points.

Best of luck to Highlands next week against Newport in the district game.

Holy Cross travels to Newport on Wednesday and then home Friday against St. Henry on Senior Night at the Finn Center.

Who moved up to JV from the frosh squad?

No one.

Is Ryan Schrand still getting beat up? Looks like he has them playing well and his son looks to be as well.

Winning will stop the beating from parents. I am sure he has made some minor adjustments but didn't deserve some of the negativity that he was getting. At the end of the day kids got to make plays and learn how to win. It looks like they are starting to do that. Ryan knows what he is doing.
