I didn't mean to open up any cans of worms. Had no idea she had any troubles, I just knew she was a very talented volleyball player. I was hoping if she wasn't at UNC she was playing someplace else. Hate to see all that talent go unused but she wouldn't be the first one to decide not to play. Wish her well.

Anyone know what happened with her commitment to UNC? She is not listed on the roster. Is she playing someplace else?

Thanks for confirming. Get tired of the argument that CCH/NDA "recruits" when the vast majority of their marquee players are true feeder school kids.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these are all feeder school kids, Kenton County...kids who "should" go to CCH if they aren't going to Dixie.

Great atmosphere in the gym last night. It was my first game of the season to see the Pandas and I agree with RCC...I expected them to not be very good based on record. Thankfully, I came away very impressed. They fought hard....fun game to watch. Go Pandas!

The bigger question should be why wouldn't she? Her two sisters go there, her mom is alum, her aunts and cousins- alums. Plus she plays club for Buck McCourt at TSE. Seems like a no brainer to me?

Seeds? In the ky state volleyball tournament??? You must be kidding? Why would they seed the teams? That's downright silly.

Hard fought game for the Pandas but they didn't look like themselves out there tonight. Congrats to S. Oldham for playing it right.

Pandas win in three sets. It was a bit sloppy but hopefully they got that out of their system. Bring on State! Congrats!

Look, I could get a lot more specific in dissing players from other schools who Morgan would be playing with if she went there, but that's not my style. Of all the players in NKy there are four that would, in my opinion, play over who nda currently has starting. A. Bush would set (over Talkers) and hit right side over Knaley H. Bush would set (over Talkers) and hit outside over Sara Draud K. Smith would compete with Salkowski in the middle. R. McDonald world compete with the Bushes for hitting time. So you put Morgan on any other team in NKy and the supporting crew is not there. Maybe Ryle beats NDA with Morgan but no one else would. Games would be more interesting, but the Pandas still prevail. We are just too strong top to bottom. And I haven't even mentioned S. Saelinger and H. Colvin's stellar back row play all season. Best in NKy. Morgan rocks and works hard and puts her team first and I am darn glad she is a Panda but NDA has ALWAYS dominated NKy volleyball and that will continue long after Morgan is gone. There are lots of little girls working hard who can't wait to put on that uniform.

Here we go....I sure hope nda can ignore this biased and ignorant post. Morgan Hentz is an incredible player. The real deal. Everything she is billed to be BUT anyone who knows anything, knows volleyball is the ultimate team sport. Morgan cannot do it alone and hasn't done it alone all season. This NDA team is what it is because Morgan plays like she does and at least two other players step up. Abby Thelen has been invaluable in almost every big match. Madison Salkowski and/or Hanna Knaley stepped up huge in the Sacred Heart match and others. And the steady setting of Hanna Talkers has been largely ignored by the media but anyone who watches NDA play can see what she does night in and night out. Unlike other sports where one player can dominate that doesn't really happen in volleyball. Morgan makes those around her better and is incredible but please let's not do this to this team. We had enough of this "superstar" stuff last year to last for a generation and we all know how that turned out. Go Pandas!

Big night tonight! I think all of these matches will be close. If anyone is at the gym and can give updates we'd I appreciate it.

Ryle students use of twitter to make banter about the volleyball team is nothing new. Last year, before the Regional Final, there were what could be construed as threats, against the NDA team, in the PC society we live in. No one reported anything, but it was a little over the top. I am sure this is not condoned by Coach Tanner or the school but they certainly can't control every idiot out there. I am not implying that the tweet referenced in this thread is in any way inappropriate, just seeing it made me think of the past. At one point in the regular season match up between NDA and Ryle, there were 11 NKYVC athletes on the floor competing against each other for their respective high school. These girls are good friends off the court and spend their entire off seasons together. I am sure the players want to win just as badly vs each other as they want to win every match. Coach Tanner runs a clean program as does NDA and the kids have respect for one another. I just wish Ryle fans would show some class on twitter.

Sorry to hear. Gotta wonder if his leadership (and skill) could've made a difference. Guess we will never know.

I don't know the players too well but did I see right that Robert Lilly didn't play last night for CCH? I just realized I didn't see him out there...or did I? If he didn't play...why not? Injured?

I'm not a "soccer person" except to watch the Big Games for my favorite teams and I will never understand ending such an important game on PK's. NDA "lost" in the state final a few years back on PK's. Why not play til someone wins.? Golden goal? anything but PK's. I walked out feeling terrible for the CCH guys and I would've felt bad for SH as well. Both teams played hard.
