2017vbfan
But will NKY end 2015 season the same way? Can anyone knock off ND? Nothing is ever a given in this sport - but they are only losing two players from the roster they have now (seniors) provided no one else falls off. Anyone's game - ask again this time next year and there is certainly a different answer. IMO of course, no expert...just a fan.
VBallBlue
I don't think anyone will stop them again next year. However, nothing is ever certain that's why you play the games. Looking forward to next year, I believe that, at the end of the day, it will be NDA and Sacred Heart playing for the title. Assumption and Mercy seem to relate each year, especially Assumption, but both teams are losing the heart of their teams for the past several years. They will be good, but I feel the other two will be better.
NKYVB
I'd say Sacred Heart will win state next year. NDA loses Thelen who, despite what some seem to think, has been the most consistent player all year for the pandas and also VonHandorf (libero) has been silently getting the job done without much recognition. The question is, do the pandas have enough depth to replace them? They don't have another person to play middle at that level. Defensively, they have a couple people that could play, but they will really struggle without a true middle.
NKYVB
But will NKY end 2015 season the same way? Can anyone knock off ND? Ryle loses pretty much everyone, so I don't see them beating NDA. St. Henry loses a large chunk of their team and I don't see them beating NDA either. Cooper loses some but has more depth and a great incoming class, but who knows what they will look like. NCC only big returners are Freppon and McDonald and I don't think they have any depth to replace what they lost, so I don't think they can beat NDA. Beechwood returns pretty much their entire team and could present a surprise. Not sure how 2015 will shake up but I think Cooper and Beechwood are the only team that could/might possibly give NDA a run for their money.... maybe.... possibly..... My way too early preseason rankings: 1. NDA 2. Cooper 3. Beechwood 4. St. Henry 5. Ryle 6. NCC please don't attack me for writing this.... please

vblover
Not as familiar with the incoming classes. What names should we be looking for to make an impact as freshman? Cooper's class has been mentioned previously as well.
dallaslaredo
Not as familiar with the incoming classes. What names should we be looking for to make an impact as freshman? Cooper's class has been mentioned previously as well. Cooper's incoming class was mentioned before by the same person who hearts Cooper all day long and told us all year that Kaity Smith was the 9th Region POTY and Coach Isaac was it's COTY. And gheez, here we are now already anointing Cooper as the favorite to unseed ND in 2015. At least you are consistent. The question was for 2015. In 2015, I will take ND's 8 Seniors over any incoming "phenom" freshmen at Cooper, or anyone else in the region. Yes, ND loses a lot and will have to re-load, but I believe that's what "they" said about this year's team after last season's big names left. Mercy had 2 years of losing before they finally won it all this year, I can see ND following that same formula. ND and SHA will be the favorites, so it will all come down to that insulting blind draw of the State bracket. As for Beechwood - 8th graders playing Varsity sports have left Beechwood before for other schools.

They return 1st team all-state, 10th region POY, Jessica Tapp, and every other key contiributor except setter Jenna Trimpe. Tapp's sister will move right into the setter position, and Scott should win their region and make another deep run at state.

If we are including all of NKY and not just 9th, I would rank them as: 1. ND 2. Scott 3. St. Henry 4. Ryle 5. Cooper, or NCC, or Beechwood Would also like to see Scott, Cooper, and Beechwwod play ND best 3/5. Would also like to see NCC and ND just play. Hey I'm OK with the Lady Eagles being the underdog again this year and carrying nobody's bullseye. But I do have to agree with them being the #2. That said take nothing away from Beechwood. They are scrappy and play with a nothing to lose attitude. They also have a couple of really good, YOUNG, hitters who could really make waves next year. I might even slide them in ahead of Cooper. Of course everything is a year away and anything can happen.
Crosley
No predictions from me other than NDA being at the top because of their incoming senior class. Beechwood had one 8th grader playing at the varsity level, none at the JV level, and 2 at the freshman level. It is always possible to lose an 8th grader. It's a big decision year for students entering high school.
NKYVB
I have heard a rumor that Bell Morgan (Beechwood 8th grader) may be going to NDA. Anyone know of this rumor and it's validity?

The bigger question should be why wouldn't she? Her two sisters go there, her mom is alum, her aunts and cousins- alums. Plus she plays club for Buck McCourt at TSE. Seems like a no brainer to me?
