Geez! What happened to Ryle? They weren't even close!

I've been saying its a down year for Ryle and they continue to prove me right. Tonight was a few steps backwards - lots of what looked like "anger" on the court. I don't get it.

 

Honestly, NDA's JV team would've given Ryle varsity and most nky varsities a run for their money...they are very good.

I'm not sure why, but Ryle has Zero team chemistry. I know that Stinson and Bush's volleyball IQ's are pretty high, but don't know much about the rest of the kids. I suspect that they aren't a very close team on or off the court.

How's the new girl in the middle doing? Is she as good as they thought or struggling with the rest of the team?

My opinion is that she was advertised a little too high. She's good but there are several middles I would place ahead of her that I've seen.

Stephenson for Knaley at right side was a good move. Colvin for Noll was also. NDA didn't play great but won rather easily.

Are we too assume the middles you would place ahead of her are sophomore's as well? The team struggles begin with no senior leadership, and horrible back row play.

The only sophomore middle "better" than Legg right now in NKy is Hardig from NDA. Hardig benefits from NDA's exceptional ball control. Unfortunately, middles are at the mercy of their defense and Ryle's is not great this year. Legg has huge upside. She will have a great club season and will be highly recruited.

Stephenson for Knaley was due to injury. I think it would be a positive if Stephenson continues to play. Better all around player and her competitiveness is something they need from their role players.

Only one that I know of. May play school next year.

Sorry, didn't read the question so I edited. LOL, There are several D1 Players sprinkled across NKY who play HS. None that I know of who forego playing school ball. It's fairly normal to see them each year, though they're not falling from the trees. Speaking of which I watched Heidi Thelen play last night for Penn State against Wisconsin (DVR). As strong as they've been I was just thrilled that she cracked the starting lineup. It's nice to see local kids do well.
