Only one that I know of. May play school next year.

Who is the D1 girl not playing school ball?

My opinion is that she was advertised a little too high. She's good but there are several middles I would place ahead of her that I've seen.

I have to agree. Legg wasn't as good as I expected her to be when I watched her play based on all the hype she was given before the season got going. She has height and is talented but no more than a lot of other girls in NKY who play on the upper level club teams.

Sorry, didn't read the question so I edited. LOL, There are several D1 Players sprinkled across NKY who play HS. None that I know of who forego playing school ball. It's fairly normal to see them each year, though they're not falling from the trees. Speaking of which I watched Heidi Thelen play last night for Penn State against Wisconsin (DVR). As strong as they've been I was just thrilled that she cracked the starting lineup. It's nice to see local kids do well.

Both Thelen and Courtney are local girls. Both played for TeamZ/TriState

In my opinion, there are a few current juniors and seniors that were more talented and athletic as sophomores than Legg. However, Tasha is a great HS coach, and she will do well at NKYVC this year. We will probably see a completely different kid next season!

Many local kids doing well collegiately.

Bessler (1,000 career kills) and Klare at Xavier. Snyder and Julian at NKU. Probably many more for nky and it's awesome to see.

How many times have you seen her play this year? All this supposed hype is crazy. She's a 15 year old teenager who has some talent. Let's see how things work out down the road. Let's embrace the fact that hopefully she will add to the already strong volleyball talent in the area.

I've seen her play 3-4 times early in the season and then again tonight. IMO She will be good, really good. I just don't think she is "there" as far as the expectations (or hype) yet. She will be fun to watch over the next year though!

Salkowski is a better middle too

Salkowski is better but she is also a senior. Like someone else posted, both Salkowski and Hardig play with great ball control. Salkowski and her setter, Talkers, have played club for NKYVC since they were 11, that is a huge benefit for a middle. I'm not sure, volleymom, you are

comparing apples to apples.

Nicole has huge upside. She will be just fine.

I don't think we were questioning that she would be or is good. Our comments were about the expectations most of us had based on statements people had made about her transferring in. Add to that that she is from Texas, where volleyball is HUGE and the expectations were probably out of line for anybody. In no way do I think anyone was trying to say she's not a very talented vball player.
