Hard fought game for the Pandas but they didn't look like themselves out there tonight. Congrats to S. Oldham for playing it right.

Congrats lady dragons. 2 strong soccer programs at South. Good luck in the final.

NDA struggled in their final third all game. They got a few decent chances and should have gotten the equalizer off the late free kick when the SO keeper mishandled it. Poor first touch and a lot of unforced errors/bad passes cost them. I did not like their tactical set up for the second half, they came out playing almost everything over the top and long services into the box. SO kept 10, and sometimes put 11 players back behind the ball, they were able to defend this quite easily. And have to wonder why NDA kept 3 players back all game, so many times when SO had 11 players in their defensive third with no striker at all up top NDA still held 3 defenders at or behind the midfield line??? Down a goal you defend plus one at most, SO had 0 so you defend with 1 at best, were they worried about loosing 2-0? State semi finals, got to take risk going for the equalizer.

 

Thought on the SO free kick goal the NDA keeper was way to far off her line, good 6'-7' in front of the goal line. If she is standing on the goal line does she make the save, tap it up and over for a corner? Either way SO had better chances, they should have scored early, rocket off the post and a couple of other close misses. Fair result.

 

Should be a good final, SO has what looks like by far the best player in the state, Miss KY Soccer and OC looks to be more technical/will have more of the ball.
