  1. Bluegrass Sports Network will cover every game.
  2. I get that argument to a degree. Imo the 1 seed should get every benefit possible. Play lower seeds and the extra day. Don’t want to play back to back days? Don’t be the 4/5 seed...just my opinion.
  3. That gives the 2/3 seeded teams two days before the finals. Defeats the purpose of being the 1 seed.
  4. A shot clock would have little effect on the game. Most high school teams will shoot it before 30-35 seconds. A major issue I see is having people to work it. Some schools struggle to find people to work the regular clock (some even use kids which shouldn’t be allowed). A shot clock won’t improve the quality of play. As a matter of fact it might hurt the game until kids quit spending all their time playing video games, social media and playing too many AAU games. Don’t get me wrong AAU serves its purpose. However, kids play too many games instead of working on their bodies, skill level, etc.
  5. Yea...same as the situation with Paris and Bourbon County.
  6. If this is the case surprising it hasn't been mentioned before.
  7. Is there any chance Eminence and Henry County will ever consolidate or is it similar to Paris/Bourbon County?
  8. Think he heads back to Louisville? On paper it looks like Grant County would be a solid job...if so, why all the turnover in recent years?
  9. Great game. Mercer did a great job of mixing up their defenses. Shame these two had to battle in round one.
  10. I agree on all counts. It should be entertaining with both teams going up and down. Should be a huge crowd being at night and assuming Mercer County brings a lot of people. I also look forward to the Christian County/South Laurel matchup...two very different styles.
  11. Rankings have no bearing on any matchup. I have seen both teams play and IMO Dunbar is better and will win. No axe, dull or sharp, to grind. Mercer County could be as high as 2nd or as low as 4th or 5th in the 11th region.
  12. I didn't and last year's Boyle County team would beat this year's Mercer County team.
  13. Mercer County has no chance. Period. Comparing common opponents is useless. Dunbar is too quick and they have at least the best if not the two best players on the floor. Mercer County's soft schedule will come back to bite them and Dunbar is just better.
  14. I could not agree more. Montgomery County had a very solid senior class and what to show for it? One region win. The saying one gets what they ask for seems to fit here perfectly. Congrats to Augusta and hope they can pull it off!
  15. Correction...meant Dunbar played a lot of zone.
  16. IMO team stats should have absolutely nothing to do with POY. The POY award is based on the best player in that region...not the best player on the best team.
  17. It is simply about match ups. Watching it online, Scott County's style is a terrible match up for Dunbar. Dunbar repeatedly shot layup after layup. Scott County I believe had close to 30 turnovers and played a lot of zone. Scott County struggled with Dunbar's quickness and athleticism. I agree their day will come but they are no match for Dunbar this year.
  18. Someone please help me but wasn't Simon Kenton supposed to be on of the favorites this year in the 9th? Have they had injuries?
  19. Bengal1...enough already. You've made your point...however, you were nowhere to be found when your beloved Generals were losing by 31, 22, 7, and 29 so please don't be another Cam Newton and talk only when your favorite team wins...I've seen Lafayette play several times this season and who is this Jenkins kid you keep referring to? I had to look up his stats...according to your posts he is the best point guard in the 11th region. Does he even start?
  20. IMO I've seen several of the top teams play. Lafayette is not in the top tier. I've said that all along and now believe it now more than ever. Dunbar, Scott County, Henry Clay are the top three...then the next tier and there is a bit of a drop off between the two. This is not to say that Lafayette cannot win it but they might be lucky to just survive the district tournament...assuming they play Catholic in the semis.
  21. Funny how you show up when your team wins. Where have you been during the losing streak? Mercer Co is a solid team. They're still the team to beat in the 12th. One could make the same argument about your Generals after getting throttled for the last two weeks. Maybe your focus should shift to worrying about beating Lexington Catholic instead of bashing a team that has only lost once.
  22. If you haven't seen them play they are very good...regardless of age.
  23. IMO Mercer County might be just too talented for anyone to give them a serious run. However, their schedule might come back to bite them. They haven't played many close games but as I said...it might not matter.
