Elimnation of transfer rule/Recruiting?
In response to the posts about transferring to get a scholarship, how likely is a coach to recruit a player who transferred high schools every time something didnt go their way? Unless they are just an outstanding player (which isn't likely if they had to keep transferring), the coach is probably going to recruit the player he doesn't have to worry about packing up their stuff when they don't get their way or didn't get enough minutes.

Is There A Parent/Coach Issue at Boone County?
Todd can be hard on his players(esp his own kids) and I have seen him use an in your face style but he knows his stuff and cares about the kids. The same kid he may "rip" during the game might be the same kid who rode to the game with him, will be sharing the hotel room with his family or who's supper he will buy on the way home.

I hope Boone fires him and my kid's school hires him.

Elimnation of transfer rule/Recruiting?
Through many threads on here, I have noticed where the rules about transferring have been discussed. It has been mentioned several times that student athletes should be allowed to transfer schools as they wish and parents be able to do what they feel is in their child's best interest. I have also seen where it has been said that a child should be allowed to transfer once in their high school career without penalty (sitting out a year). All of these sound like reasonable ideas and I am not disagreeing with any one of them. However, I am curious as to what everyone thinks about how this would change what high school basketball is about in terms of schools/boosters/coaches recruiting players from other schools. We all know that this is not allowed by the KHSAA, but that it happens. I have seen this first hand, as I am sure many of you have. Do you think allowing kids to transfer will cause 'recruiting' to get out of hand (if not already) if players would not be penalized for doing so?

22ft Academy?
It is in no way his responsibility but he did tell us all more than once that he would get us some answers and for whatever reason or reasons that has yet to happen.

22ft Academy?
While it is nice to know that these boys are getting serious looks from colleges and may have the opportunity to get an education, there has still been no answers to any of the questions posed in this thread regarding this "academy". I too can not imagine sending my kid off to another country, however I don't think we can judge a parent for doing so when we have no idea of their circumstances. I agree with GS that some of these parents are making a huge sacrifice and are trying to give their sons a better life. That is why I feel so strongly that someone should be making sure that these kids are being taken care of and getting what they need both on and off the court.

Travelers Basketball 16u Roster
Thank you. That makes sense! My only concern with this is with this many older players, all at the upper level of their class, that the younger ones dont get enough playing time to really get the benefits of playing against older, tougher competition. Not saying that is the case with this team because I don't know enough about the players to make that judgement. Just a concern in general. Hopefully that won't be the case with these guys!

Travelers Basketball 16u Roster
I am confused as to why a freshman would want to play up at this level unless they were just completely out of everyone else's league. I can understand maybe why a junior would want to play up with seniors to get exposure since the majority of the scouts watch the going-to-be seniors at tournaments. I just don't see the benefit of a freshman playing up unless they will be a complete standout on the sophomore team. Maybe I am missing something so if I am, someone help me out.

KY AAU Teams 2013
What is legal in terms of what AAU team sponsors can provide for players? It is not uncommon to see college prospects have problems related to something that went on in aau ball.

Walton Job?
Let's say Clinkenbeard becomes the boy's coach, that will make the 5th coach for the girls in the past 7 or 8 years. Short shelf life for bball coaches at WV.

22ft Academy?
Heard today that the boys are taking on-line classes.

22ft Academy?
It looks like the "academy" would be eager to tell their side of the story and put everyone's doubts to rest. With the school hopping these kids have been subjected to I have concerns that they may not be ready for the academic requirements of college.

Ranking returning players for next year
The team sounds loaded. I heard Will Hager had a very nice season. I look for big things out of him!

Walton Job?
I think sophomore and 8th grader. I too can't imagine moving schools senior year unless there are major, major issues. Dare I say this on here? Oh well, here goes---there are other things in life besides basketball. There I said it.

"Laettner Play" Sends Game to OT
What about the passer bouncing the ball before the pass? I thought that was a violation? Is there any limit to how far back the inbounds passer can stand?
