So they beat Collins? Wow. Good for them! Budman, I have to say, your lack of respect for the former coaches is getting old. Coach Turner and family gave a lot to the program. As much as you don't want to admit it, but this years transition falls some to Coach Turners credit. Just like when a coach leaves to go to another school, the following year, the new coach is playing out the previous coaches hand. After that, it is on the new coaches to see what they have. I am not saying the new coaching staff isn't doing a good job, but Coach Turner doesn't deserve the constant lack of respect that people on here throw at her. Calling last year a "social club" and as you put it, not having a plan. Total lack of respect. Good luck to the Lady Jags this year. They should have a great season. They would have either way. Whether Coach Turner was here or the new staff.

Coach Borchers did it again. Great win by him, his staff, and of course the players! We are Cooper! Great atmosphere tonight! Bring on the next opponent! Our offense is as good as anyones, and our defense proved tonight so are they!

Can a Mod please shut this thread down? Coach Turner hasn't been the coach at Cooper since early summer. She doesn't continue to need to take the abuse that people keep hurling her direction. To JustADad, she IS a very polite and pleasant person. She was a good coach and didn't run a social club. It's Coopers loss that they couldn't realize just how good they had it! The new staff does the exact same things that Coach Turner did. They all were trying to accomplish the same thing.

I haven't seen Cooper have difficulty scoring the ball yet in the playoffs, and really all season long. I think the Jags can win this game and I think they will. Coach Borchers will have his players ready to play. No one can deny they have a top level defense, and their offense has been putting up points against good teams. I don't think it will be a blowout, but I like the Jaguars winning!

Congrats to Sydney. She was always tough to matchup agaisnt for us. Very good athlete. Congrats on the record also!

And who knows, they might get divided up when it comes to high school. Cooper has girls at Boone County and Ryle that if you go by where they live, should be at Cooper. And they don't have parents that work in the district to get them to go where they want. If you coach or live in Boone County, you know that rules only apply for certain people/situations.

Read through the entire thread to find out what happened. The people that count know the truth about Coach Turner and she still has a lot of supporters at Cooper. They know what she did for the program. The sacrafices. All the time and energy put into the program. Quite a few girls, faculty, and students miss her. But she is doing well and can sit back and know she contributed to the success of this years team. She had good kids, just had lousy parents and support. She will someday coach again and be successful.

The word might be that they are down, but never count out Coach Nell. They will be just fine!

I hope the Jags can overcome a slow start since they have players on the playoff football team. It is a double edged sword. You want the football team to do well, but you also know the basketball team needs those players as soon as possible. My boy Coach Sullivan will be just fine though! The end result is what counts. Not the first few games!

The Lady Jags looked ready to roll at their scrimmage today. Both the Varsity and JV played well. I would say they were definitely the best team their. Good to see Coach Griffith getting after it on the sidelines today for the JV team. Coach Turner should be proud of how the girls played today. They are shaping into the team she was trying to mold and didn't have a chance to finish. The new coaching staff is doing a good job. We are Cooper!

My apologies for misspelling Coach T's name. I made a phone call and here are the names of the coaches: Varsity- Josh Terwilliger Var. Asst- Bill Tharp JV- David Snider Freshmen- Wayne Griffith Good luck to these gentlemen!

Varsity Head- Coach Terwingler (sp?) from Ohio Asst. Varsity- Lloyds old coach JV- used to help with Cooper's boys Freshmen- Coach Griffith (who should be higher up the list)

Cooper ended up 9-1 this year. I would not want to play this "#3 seed". The Jags will be ready. Coach Borchers is on a mission and one and done will not happen this year! Good luck to Cooper!

Yes, the Lady Jags can compete in a weaker District 33. The other three teams are good, but so are the Lady Jags. Should be a fun year!

The new coach should be happy, he was given the keys to a pretty nice car/truck. Whether people want to acknoledge it or not, Coach Turner did a fabulous job at Cooper. The new coach is just playing out her hand. The new coach does seem very excited. Good luck to him and the Lady Jags!

Sure is a whole lot of "he said", "she said", "I hear" and so on taking place. I have sat back long enough and now am going to speak my mind. What happened to Coach Turner was a disgrace. People should be ashamed at how they acted. No matter what happens this year with the team, you can credit that to Coach Turner. Nothing against the new coach, but he is playing with Coach Turners team and their success is her success. And if the new staff wants to keep Coach Griffith on staff, great move. He should be more than a freshmen coach. He knows just as much about basketball as a head coach and the girls are lucky to have him in the program. Good luck Cooper Lady Jags, this fan is cheering you on to great things this year. Coach Turner got it started and she should enjoy the harvest of all her hard work this year!
