Now that games between NKY teams are finished and we wish the best for Beechwood, Cooper, Highlands and NewCath as they push toward state championships, how do you rate the teams in NKY? I'll go with:

1) Highlands

2) CovCath

3) Cooper

4) Conner

5) Simon Kenton

6) Campbell County

7) NewCath

8) Beechwood

9) Dixie

10) Ryle

Looks good, there is a clear #1 and I think everyone would say that is HHS

#2 and #3 could go either way, the only one I might question is wether Ryle or Boone should get the #10 spot.

I think with Newcath having a "healthy" team they would have no problem beating CC and SK, move them to #5.

I don't see it. I understand that NewCath had some injuries early, but the biggest key to the past 7 games for NewCath is who they played. They are a very good 2A team. Nothing more.

I would argue both Beechwood and NCC have improved much more than Simon Kenton has since those games. I still rank SK above both of them in the rankings because SK beat both of them, but I highly doubt SK beats either of them by 2 TD's, if they beat them at all.

 

Dixie should not be in the top 8. I will go with these teams as a clear cut top 8:

I can argue for some shifts in the top 8 but I see no way any other team should be in the top 8 above the ones I have listed. I also think Dixie is the clear cut #9.

SK beat NewCath by 8, after NewCath fumbled the ball at the 6 yard line going in to score w 1:30 left. The 2A is 2A blanket statement doesn't work here. Would they win if they played a rematch? I don't know, but I like their chances.
