Didn't Holmes beat NewCath, Beechwood, and Scott? Shouldn't they be Top 10? Is it held against Holmes that they finished the season against Highlands, CovCath and Johnson Central? Honestly, I don't think Holmes could beat any one of those three right now. I would not rank Holmes above any of them with the possible exception of Scott. I have to think about that one.

I would argue the largest difference between Holmes, Beechwood and NewCath is who each had to play in district. If NewCath or Beechwood had to play Highlands, CovCath and then Johnson Central in the playoffs, they would be sitting at home right now, just like Holmes.

Actually, Holmes played Ashland in round 1 and I guarantee you that neither Beechwood nor NCC would lose 41-14 to Ashland like Holmes. I think NCC and/or Beechwood right now would have a shot at beating Ashland. It definitely would be a competitive game.

Improvement happens throughout the course of the year, but don't you think Holmes would have also beaten Lloyd, Newport, Dayton, Bellevue, Paris, Gallatin County, Walton etc. If not, why not?

Yes, I think Holmes would have beaten those teams. And I don't think Beechwood nor NCC would beat Highlands or Cov Cath. I could see Holmes in the top 10 at 9 or 10 and not complain about it. They had a good team with some very talented players and they had a good year. But I don't think they are in the top 8.

When NewCath and Beechwood played Holmes both teams were the "walking wounded". Both teams are now 100% healthy and both would have no problem taking Holmes to the "woodshed". I to agree Holmes has some very talented players, however if they played either team the last week of the regular season it would be a different outcome.

These things are so crazy I usually never respond to them. However, Holmes did beat three teams in the top ten. They, like almost every team had injuries to overcome throughout the year. Colston only played half the games for the Bulldogs and Peterson missed 1 1/2 games. Bottome line they played the teams when they showed up on the schedule and took care of business against Scott, NCC and Beechwood and got clobbered by HHS, CCH, Cooper and SK. That should be worth higher consideration than they received. They played 7 of the ten listed and beat three of them. They didn't back away from any and had a good season. Not sure where I would put them because who really knows other than they should definitely be behind the 4 that beat them and at least even with the others.

Huh? Conner beat Scott... And addressing your 'missing starters' point from the Holmes vs Scott game.. Conner was playing without 7/8 starters in the game against Scott, including arguably one of the best players in the state, Cameron Fogle..

Scott was much improved, but I don't think they were top 10. You go by what happens on the field, not what if's. Holmes has to be in the top 10 somewhere.
