Cooper 2012/2013

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Cooper ? Remember, please be constructive.

Looking forward to seeing the big fella play. Louis Maniacci should be a handful in the post this season.

Cooper will be tough this year. They have a bunch of players that have been drinking the Sullivan flavored kool-aid for 3 years, and it taste real good. they could go far but in the 33rd anything can happen on any given night. Look out.

Go Jags! :thumb:

He really stepped up the last 2-3 weeks of the season and I hear his summer was even better so I'm looking for big things out of Louis this year. Stay healthy big fella!!

The Jags are well coached and have a very solid core coming back with 4 starters and the addition of Zach Mcneil. If they can play as a team and defend like Coach Sully will demand, then they could put it on some teams this year.

I really dont see a weakness on this team. Morgan will be a very good PG, Collins can drain the 3 and has the strength to attack when needed. The two bigs down low are going to be awfully tough to stop in Shelton/Maniacci. Mcneil has the ability to score from the perimeter as well. Throw in the big kid Hathorn off the bench who battles around the basket and you have a very good 6 players. I am not familiar though with the rest of their bench. Depth could become a factor down the road if anyone gets in foul trouble. Maybe someone can shed some light on the rest of the team and how that may shake out.

Coach Sullivan is the man. He will have the Jags on top again this year! No one will out work him or out coach him! Go Jags!

How big is he now?

6'8"ish. Maybe a shade more.

He is a good player but really needs to beef up more to be a big threat. Just my opinion.

I think he has a very high ceiling. Great upside. He has great length. You can't teach that wonderful length. He's very active.

It didn't stop him last year. Though I agree about 25 pounds would be a huge asset.

Yes it would. That's what I was trying to say. I only saw him a few times last year but needed to work on his shot also I thought.

Maniacci had his best games in the 9th Region Tournament, if he did anything to improve his game in the off season then he will be a dominant force. He owned Dixie in that Region win.

The experience the Jags have coming back should help. It will be interesting to see how Lou and the other big, Shelton, come together and how well they can play together at same time on the floor. They both had foul problems at times last year. If they can play well together along with the talented perimeter players it should be fun times in Union this winter.
